Kate Richardson-Walsh has been named Great Britains flag bearer for the closing ceremony in Rio on Sunday.Richardson-Walsh was given the honour after captaining the womens hockey team to gold, with Britain edging out the Netherlands in a dramatic penalty shootout in the final.The ceremony at the Maracana will be a chance for Britains athletes to celebrate a hugely successful Games in which they beat the tally of medals won in London four years ago.Richardson-Walsh, who was nominated by a panel led by Team GB chef de mission Mark England, said: I feel incredibly proud to have been chosen.
