DAVIE, Fla. -- Dion Jordan walked off the practice field Tuesday holding the helmets and shoulder pads of two veteran Miami Dolphins teammates. The third overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft got to take part in his first training camp practice on Tuesday, though he was limited to individual and position drills. "I feel real good, first of all just being out there with the guys and being able to run around and hit things and just get back to normal football routine," Jordan said. The defensive end from Oregon signed his rookie contract Saturday, but sat out the first two days of camp. He had shoulder surgery Feb. 27. "Its going to be a gradual process," Dophins coach Joe Philbin said. "Well see how he responds, see how he feels tomorrow and take it from there. Were never going to rush a guy if we dont feel hes ready. Well take our time." Philbin did not expect Jordan to be too far behind because the rookie has been around for all the installments on defence. "He sat in the classroom, hes been out there, hes watched all the practice film, heard the corrections," Philbin said. "Obviously, theres going to be a point in time when he needs to get out there and feel it for himself and do it for himself and make a couple of mistakes and then learn from them and move forward as a player." The Dolphins moved up nine spots in the first round, from 12th to third, to land Jordan in the draft. They gave Oakland a second-round pick in the transaction and made Jordan the highest-drafted defensive player in team history. Jordan says his draft position doesnt additional pressure on him, nor he did come to training camp with any expectations about his role. "No matter what it is, if its just a pass rusher, if Coach puts me out there to start, even if its special teams, I want to play football," Jordan said. "No matter where it is, youve got to earn everything. I have to earn whatever it is." Dan Marino Youth Jersey . LeBron James and Chris Bosh didnt need any more.
