Kajol is an all time audience favourite whether it’s a 5-year-old or a 50-year-old. She has always lived up to our expectations. This chubby mummy has undergone a complete makeover in the recent press event for shiksha (educating a girl child).
The actress was never as thin as a size zero. But she obviously slacked off on the diet and exercises after she wed Ajay Devgan in 1999 and started her family. Kabhi Khushi Khabhi Gham was her first hit in which she played an older character. She was obviously heavier in the role. Understandably, as Kajol then had young baby Nysa to take care of, leaving her little time to herself.
But now, as Nysa has grown up, the actress is back to her slender self for the film My Name Is Khan. As with all of Karan Johar’s films, an actress has to look her best.
Kajol followed the trend and lost all that baby weight, her arms and legs are toned and she’s even got back that flat tummy of hers back. Since she shed those extra pounds we can also see a marked improvement in her dress sense. Kajol now looks absolutely stunning.
About her lost of weight we spoke to Kajol's close source, "For My Name is Khan, she is reducing weight which is very difficult for her to do but she has done it and its very Good to see her in that new thin look."
In My Name is Khan she plays an NRI woman and as per the look of her character, she has to look thin. Hence she had to give up her body weight and start with a Special diet.
Mumbai, April 24: Once upon a time Shah Rukh, Karan Johar and Kajol were known to be best of friends. But now there seems to be a rift due to Kajol’s marital commitments. Ever since, the dusky actress got married to Ajay Devgan, she started keeping her distance from SRK because of hubby’s dislike for him. And, now she has had a tiff with Karan Johar on date issues while working in ‘My Name is Khan’.
A source close to the film revealed to a news daily, ``One big schedule of the film has already been wrapped up in the USA before SRK`s shoulder surgery. Now Karan is busy shooting some portions of the film in Mumbai`s Borivili area with ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ child star Tanay Chheda who plays SRK`s childhood part. After SRK comes back, from his IPL 2 commitments, from South Africa there is yet another schedule being planned for the US.”
“But Kajol it seems is not too keen on shooting out of India given that she has to leave her daughter Nysa back home now that she`s going to school. So, while the shooting in Mumbai in June coincided with Nysa`s school days, Kajol had no problems. But Karan also has to shoot some more sequences in New York, which Kajol is refusing to oblige with. She was informed that there would be only one schedule in the US, which she`d agreed to. But now since Karan wants to go back for whatever reasons, Kajol is adamant and just won`t,`` added the source.
Another source said, ``Karan expects that his good friend understands his problem but Kajol wants him to shoot these portions in Mumbai itself on specially built sets. But Karan who believes in perfection just doesn`t want to compromise on such things.``
Surely, Kajol is being mean to friends. Not only marital, there is something called professional commitments also.
Reliable sources say his production house has bought the rights of the Hollywood flick StepMom; that the media already knows will be made with Karan’s two favourite girls — Kajol and Kareena Kapoor. Talk is that the film will not be a copy, but will draw inspiration from the sensitive Susan Sarandon-Julia Roberts flick that left the audience teary eyed. Filmmakers these days want to take no chances.
Everyone knows that recently the producers of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button issued a statement in the newspapers warning Bollywood filmmakers against copying their film. The established filmmakers in town definitely don’t want to take any chances. Looks like if producers wish to make a remake of a foreign film hence forth, they will definitely want to acquire the official rights, so that nothing is left to chance.
Karan Johar has done it again. After casting Kajol and Kareena Kapoor for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, way back in 2001, he’s got the two talented actresses again for his forthcoming venture. The film will be directed by debutante Siddharth Malhotra, who is production house Cinevistaa’s chairman Prem Kishen’s son and the grandson of the late Prem Nath. Siddharth was the creative producer of the hit TV serial Sanjivani and was responsible for conceptualising and shaping it.
Our source revealed, “Kajol and Kareena have been finalised for Karan Johar’s forthcoming film, which will start once the actors are free from their on-going films.”
The film, which is yet untitled is based on the Hollywood film, Stepmom (1998), starring Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts. The shooting of the film will begin as soon as Kajol wraps up the shoot of Karan’s My Name Is Khan, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
So how did the casting come about? “Karan, who is directing Kajol in My Name Is Khan is very happy with her work. The same holds true for Kareena, who is working opposite Saif Ali Khan in a project directed by Rensil D’Silva,” said the source.
When queried about Kareena’s presence in Karan’s film, Kareena’s secretary maintained a diplomatic stand and said, “Kareena would never say no to Karan.”
