When stars come as guest on Mithun Chakraborty's show Dance India Dance, they end up shaking their booty to the veteran's hit song I am a Disco Dancer.
Now, director Rohit Shetty will remix the song for his film Golmaal 3. He has bought the rights and will have Mithun dance on the remix number. Though Mithun has a cameo role in the film, its producers - Ajay Devgn and Shetty - want to make Golmaal 3 as special as possible.
They will shoot the song in Goa which is Shetty's favourite location. The song will be picturised on a giant set, another Shetty trademark.
Obviously Mithun can't wait to groove on his song.
April 1st, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): In the wake of promoting films differently every production house along with the director of the film tries to come up with new promotional strategies.
If Aamir Khan can promote his film 3 Idiots changing his avatar and going to his mother’s home town Allahabad and Shahrukh Khan can get the International market to buy his film at the highest bidding rate then why can’t Director Prakash Jha play up with his Rajneeti .
His latest offerings Rajneeti is all set to release. So what is that newness and freshness that will be added to get the audiences to the theatre box office window.
Our source from the production house confirms,” Since the film is hard-core one, representing the politics of our country, Prakash Jha does not want to leave any stone unturned. He has decided to rock the Indians by making his cast and credits including Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar to sing the live National Anthem…Jana Gana Mana. The film will be opening with this National Anthem sung by the star cast instead of the National Anthem that is usually incorporated in the other movies. So we better stand in attention for the National Anthem sung by the star cast of film Rajneeti! The dubbing will take place sometimes this week after Nana comes back from his short trip to Pune.
Nana Patekar says, “Now-a-days, publicity has its own norms and ways. Well! Prakash must be having something in his mind. All I know that after I come back from Pune I have to go for dubbing. I have given my dates for dubbing.”
The film is all set to hit the theatres in June….
Way to go Prakash! Hope your promotion strategies help Rajneeti to get full votes at the box office windows!

Its not rocket science to know that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. But today's Birthday boy is one 'son' who will never set. Instead, he has set many sparkling guidelines for others to follow and attain success! We are indeed talking about the one and only Vishal Devgn, whom we better know as Ajay Devgn, the illustrious son of the ace fight master Veeru Devgn.
Even though he was a 'star-son', Ajay chose to 'earn' his launch in the form of his debut film Phool Aur Kaante, a film whose B-O collections, till date remains unparalleled! What followed after this were an array of films like Jigar, Divya Shakti, Platform, Dilwale, Naajayaz, Ishq, Pyaar Tho Hona Hi Tha, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Golmaal to name a few. Ajay Devgn is indeed one of the very few actors in Bollywood today who has (well deservedly) earned his position as a romantic hero as well as an action man! Today, the whole of Bollywood is waiting with bated breath for each and every film of his. That's what we call as 'Star-Power'.
He is the same guy who made his debut 19 years back, in the 1991 film, ‘Phool Aur Kaante’. No one ever thought that he would come this far. But Ajay and his persistence have proved many of his critics wrong and is still going strong. On Ajay Devgn’s 41st birthday, we at Indiainfo, trace his journey through the years.
Started his career with action Ajay started his career as an action hero. Though his debut film, ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ won him a lot of awards and accolades, it also tagged him as an action hero. Even his subsequent films like ‘Ek Hi Raasta’ opposite Raveena Tandon, ‘Bedardi’ with Urmila Matondkar saw him as an action hero. ‘Vijaypath’, ‘Haqeeqat’ and ‘Diljale’ were some of the other popular action films that featured Ajay.
Moved to comedy with ‘Ishq’ It was indeed very refreshing to see Ajay doing comedy in ‘Ishq’. The film was a hit an opened the door of different genres for Ajay Devgn. ‘Pyar to Hona Hi Tha’ was another romantic-comedy in which Ajay Devgan had featured. By now, Ajay had proved that he was not only an action hero, but could also do comedy and romantic roles with equal ease and panache.
Mixed bag Ajay was seen in Mahesh Bhatt's ‘Zakhm’, in which he played an action hero yet again. The film was a success and Ajay was appreciated for his performance. He switched to romance with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, which got success. Ajay’s intense roles in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Company’ and Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Prakash Jha’s ‘Gangaajal’ were much loved. He also experimented with of Rituparno Ghosh’s offbeat film, ‘Raincoat’. Although it was critically acclaimed, it didn’t do well at the box office.
Ajay’s poignant role in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Omkara’ is one regarded as one of his best roles till date. He also tried his hands in directing with ‘U, Me aur Hum’. Off late, Ajay is seen in mainly comedy films like ‘Golmaal’, ‘Golmaal Returns’, ‘All The Best’ and ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’; all of them doing fairly well. Next, he will be seen in Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti, which is scheduled to release in May.
It’s perhaps Ajay’s will to experiment with different roles, is what has kept him going till now. We wish him a very happy birthday and hope to see him in many diverse films in the years to come.
He came, he did and he conquered. So did many of his generation and ahead. But the only fact which sets him apart is- knowingly or unknowingly he surpassed everyone's unexpected expectations. Ironically, Ajay Devgn had to prove himself at every stage of his both personal and professional life. On the occasion of Ajay Devgn's birthday, we take a sneak-peek in his achievements as a filmmaker, husband and ofcource a proud father.
No non-sense ideal husband: Ajay Devgn had to face the brunt on personal end. Being a celebrity and in love with a celebrity his love-relationship with wife Kajol didn’t get a warm welcome. But on that front too he put every eyebrow raised to rest with noneless than magical marriage journey. When Ajay married Kajol in people from industry said this marroage will not last for more then a year. Because he is an intovert and Kajol likes people’s company and she is too charming. They are chalk and chesse and this marriage will not go far ahead. But he proved people wrong. Kajol’s beautiful chemistry with SRK yet again left many minds draw a comaprison between Ajay and SRK but Ajay took every comment by his stride in a good spirit. In fact, when enquired about his equation with SRK which sell like hot cakes, he very humbly would put every rumour to rest taking the name of his introvert nature for his no-comaptibilty with SRK. The indisputably most celebrated on-screen couple SRK-Kajol’s comeback with Kabhie Khushi kabhie Gham left every floating rumour to base which indicated Ajay’s non-approval to Kajol relationship with SRK. Another interesting and rare fact which put him in a different league was he never relied on controversies for easy fame. No link-ups news with female-actotr occupied the mind of the people around. Ajay proved to be responsible loving husband who makes it a point to spend qaulity time with his loving wifey who inturn is extremely proud of her.
An equally sensitive father: The beautiful daughter Nysa was no less than God’s blessings in the couples life. Ajay stepped into the shoes of father with the same grace like a true professional and husband. Once unestimated as a husband lived up to the resposibility of daddy with pride. And now the couple is yet rejoicing the news of being parents again for Kajol is expecting a second child. So, on that note we wish Ajay Devgn a very happy birthday and the Devgn family a very prosperous life ahead.
An unbelivebly amazing filmmaker: In the times when looks were regarded directly proportional to acting prowess , Ajay Devgn's unconventional looks became a matter of concern. They were literally looked down upon by many and thus, he was categorized as an average actor in the midst of super-charming Khans. His gradual grooming came along with every beuatiful character he portrayed on screen. Once an action oriented hero, this actor switched lanes amazingly with some romantic and comic roles. He got beautifully into the skin of the charcater be it a lover boy in Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha or Ishq or a hurt husband and son in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Zakhm respectively or a young politician in Yuva. And one movie which literally put everyone to think twice about his capibilities as an actor was the role of Bhagat Singh in The Legend of Bhagat Singh. He got an edge over other two on-screen Bhagat Singh's one of them being the jhat himself Bobby Deol. Two times National award winner Devgn gave an ultimate blow to one and all when here invented his career in direction and production. His debut directorial venture U, Me and Hum created waves as it marked as a comeback of off-screen couple Ajay-Kajol on-screen. His direction came as an iccing on cake. And finally, Ajay left many eyes wide open when he finally he displayed superb comic-timing on-screen which was least expected of him. Golmaal, Golmaal Returns and All The Best, all these films sing praises of this extremely versatile actor.
One thing that goes without saying for Ajay Devgan that his films has been doing all the necessary talking for him ever since he’s been around. The seldom-speaking star made fewer hard-hitting statements in media, which hit the headlines and the person in question as well. Scroll down to hear out what Ajay Devgan said aloud.
Grapes are sour! Ajay’s aversion for award ceremonies has been blown so much out of proportion that very few could notice his absence. When asked about his prolong absence from the ceremonies he once stated, “I don’t like to blow my own trumpet. I don’t attend awards functions because many undeserving people or even non-actors get honoured. That is when I get disillusioned.
Blames media for hating his wife’s best friend When he is questioning the authenticity of awards we shall remind him that his wife has bagged several awards pairing with SRK. Now that reminds us of his rivalry with the King Khan which became intense during Omkara and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
However the actor diplomatically rubbished the animosity in one of his statements saying, “The media created the battle. As far as I’m concerned, there was no issue. They’re two different films, I don’t know what all the fuss was all about,” followed by yet another famous quote, “We really didn’t have any issues. It’s just that I mind my own business. I don’t know why the media created the whole issue. Maybe because I never even attends SRK’s parties. But I hardly attend parties. I hardly go out and mingle with people. I’m hardly seen with anybody.”
He also once said in one of his interview, “What we need to do right now is to jump into a boxing ring and fight. I think you guys will be happy only if that happens. The media wants to create a tiff, so go ahead and do it. The day it happens, we’ll get into that boxing ring.” And he was later also heard saying, “Kajol has worked with Shah Rukh in several films in the past and we will have a chance to act together. Shah Rukh and Kajol are good friends.” Oh really, Ajay have you still watched My Name Is Khan?
Had tough-time with Raveena Ajay and Raveena never got along despite working several times together, about which he did accept in one of his media statement. “I get along with all my heroines except one... Yeah, it is Raveena I'm talking about. But it is all in the past now. I'm a professional and so is she. So our personal differences won't get in the way of completing the film."
Denies having dated co-stars Link up stories kept looming even after marriage. He was rumoured to have been seeing Urmila Matonkar and Priety Zinta during the making of the films Dewaane and Yeh Raste Hai Pyar Ke respectively. He rubbished the rumours saying, "This is news to me. Urmila and I haven't met after we wrapped up Deewane. And she's not a part of Ramu's Company either. So where's the question of our meeting. Anees Bazmee has signed Urmila opposite me for Deewangee but we haven't started shooting for it yet. So tell me, where and when did we get close? Those who indulge in yellow journalism seem to have a lot of fursat (free time)." And about Priety Zinta he said, "Preity and I are two mature individuals who happen to work together and work cordially. If people see hidden meanings between our exchanged hellos, too bad. I'd love to say I simply don't care about all that is written. But these rumours make working together really awkward at one level or another."
All praises for Kollywood "In the South, it is different, they have a audience that is literate. The literacy rate in the South is 90%. The filmmakers in the South have a conditioned audience. For Hindi films, our audiences are all over the country, and the literacy rate in most parts up north is considerably lower. I mean, even our comedy cannot be subtle because of this, as subtle comedy will go over the heads of our audience. Which is why everything - our stories, our comedy tracks, our romances and even the violence in our films, is overstated."
It seems the change in his spelling has worked wonders for Ajay Devgn. After the success of his home production ‘All The Best’ last year, he is being appreciated for his earnest performance in his latest hit ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?’
What’s more in store for this talented actor who celebrates his 41st birthday today?
We ask our very own in house expert and celebrity astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi to predict his future for us:
“Born on 2nd April 1969, Ajay is a Number 2 (Moon) person in numerology. He is also ruled by Number 9 (Mars – Aries) and Number 4 (Rahu – 2 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 6 + 9 = 31 = 3 + 1 = 4). Being ruled by Number 2, he is also ruled by Number 7 (Neptune). Numbers 2 and Number 7 always go hand in hand.”
“Being a Number 2, Ajay is very creative and hence also a moody person. Otherwise he is soft spoken and family loving. But to the Mars effect, he is also very hyper, temperamental and aggressive when needed. That is why he is good at action and a pro at doing stunts. He likes to be adventurous but should be careful as he is also accident prone. The presence of ‘Rahu’ will make him indecisive and hence always in two minds most of the times.”
“Ajay will be entering his 42nd year from today which indicates happiness on the personal front. He can embrace fatherhood one more time and that’s good news,” predicts Bhavikk
“On the work front, he will draw accolades for his acting in his next release ‘Raajneeti’ despite the film having an ensemble cast. After that, be it ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai’, ‘Garam Hawa’ or ‘Golmaal 3’, his performance in all these films will win him awards and rewards from critics as well as the paying public. His animation venture
‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’ will also be received well ”.
“So, it’s merry time at the Devgn household!” concludes Bhavikk on a positive note.
Though they have been around for decades, Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn have never featured in a film together. Director Priyadarshan, a favourite of both stars, might just have the honour of helming a film featuring the two. Buzz is that Priyan is planning a film called Bullet Train with the duo. The project is in the extremely initial stages with plans to shoot it entirely in London.
Devgan is currently working with Priyan in Aakrosh (formerly called Garam Hawa) along with Akshaye Khanna and Bipasha Basu.
Says a source, "Priyan has sounded off Anil and Ajay and both have agreed to be part of the project. It is in the scripting stage at the moment."
Informs Devgn, "It's a stylised action film based around a heist or robbery. We start in October."
Priyadarshan however prefers to be guarded. He says, "As soon as I wrap up Aakrosh, I begin work on my next movie with a bunch of newcomers. This will be around July-end and it will be a start-to-finish project. Only after this film can I think about my next."
He adds, "I have not yet decided on my next project or stars. I am working with both Anil and Ajay. Rose Movies has approached me to remake their Rajesh Khanna-starrer The Train. At the moment, it is Aakrosh followed by the movie with freshers that will be youth-centric. A casting agency is deciding on the cast for the project."
But the source maintains, "As it is too early, Priyan is playing safe and not talking about it. But the stars are looking forward to be part of the heist film."
In this hot weather, no one wants Garam Hawa except Ajay Devgn. We are referring to the title of his next film, which is being directed by Priyadarshan.
Ajay and Priyan had a heated argument over the title and finally settled on Garam Hawa, because Ajay felt that this title had the maximum impact. The film has lots of violence and action, so GH was the most appropriate title. It is an action thriller with tongue-in-cheek humour, and is set in Bihar. There is a strong angle about honour killing and love across caste barriers. An army and CBI officer lend to the action and thriller elements.
Ajay says that the title, Garam Hawa, is a tribute or homage to MS Sathyu’s Garam Hawa. Isshaq, Aakrosh, Man Maani, Ardh Satya, Nishaad and Ishqana were the other titles in the running.
Ajay was recently dubbing for Once Upon a Time in Mumbai. He is currently holidaying in Dubai with his family. The schedule of Garam Hawa has kept him busy, along with looking after his pregnant wife, Kajol. He will also start working on Golmaal 3 when he returns. Moreover, he will join the cast of Raajneeti on their political promotional rounds across the country, as and when his shooting schedule permits.
He started the year on a great note with the success of Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge. He will be seen in Golmaal 3, Raajneeti, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and Garam Hawa this year.
Andere in Frage kommende Titel in der Endauswahl waren Isshaq, Aakrosh, Man Maani, Ardh Satya, Nishaad and Ishqana.
Ajay Devgan and Anil Kapoor have been in film industry for decades, but never had opportunities working together. Now it’s all most confirmed Ajay and Anil first time working together in the movie, this will be done only comedy king director Priyadarshan.
Sources say that “Anil and Ajay both have agreed to be a part of the project. It is in the scripting stage at the moment.”
At present Priya and Ajay both working on Aakrosh (aka Garam Hawa) which other star is Bipasha Basu, Akshay Khanna and paresh Rawal.
Bullet Train is being scripted at the moment, and it is a stylized action film revolving around a heist or robbery. Filming is set to begin in October this year.

Rohit Shetty is getting mighty excited these days. And the reason for his excitement happens to be his upcoming film GOLMAAL 3, the sequel to GOLMAAL.
The latest buzz suggests that the GOLMAAL team is seeking an entry into the Limca Book of Records. As the makers claim that (after making GOLMAAL and GOLMAAL RETURNS) theirs is the only Bollywood film whose third part is being made. And also the fact, they being the first in Bollywood to make sequels in shortest span of time (within a gap of 2 years).
Many filmmakers have announced a third sequel but nothing seemed to be materialized.
Both GOLMAAL and GOLMAAL RETURNS have been huge box office successes, let's see what wonders third part does when it releases.
Ajay Devgn who just turned 41 on April 2 is very amused with stories of how he planned a birthday outing for himself and his family.
“I’m not one of those who celebrates birthdays,” says the reclusive superstar, adding that he had this Dubai vacation planned months ahead because it coincided with his 7-year-old daughter Nysa’s Easter vacation. “From the time Nysa started her schooling, we have planned family outings according to her vacations. This time her Easter vacation coincided with my birthday. But it feels silly to say that I celebrated my birthday. I’m not the sort who makes a fuss about birthdays, especially mine. If it is Nysa’s birthday or Kajol’s birthday, then I make it a point to do something special for them. But when it comes to me, the less fuss anyone makes, the better. If my family is around me, then everyday is a cause for celebration.” There you go, at least one Bollywood star is grown up enough to admit that men in their 40s shouldn’t be sounding like four year olds on issues like birthdays. Please grow up all of you.
Ajay Devgn is all ready to flaunt his new look in his upcoming comedy flick Golmaal 3. Ajay himself has taken a great interest in the styling of his new avatar, complete with diamond ear studs, tattoos and cropped hair.
The film, which has been shot in Goa, will bring out the rugged style of Ajay Devgn, as never before.
The wardrobe for Ajay’s new grunge look has been designed by Navin Shetty. Ajay’s new look has been conceptualized by director Rohit Shetty himself. Rohit has also styled Kareena’s tomboy avatar, Tusshar Kapoor’s tapori look and Arshad Warsi’s new look, which is yet undisclosed.
Ajay’s tattoos have been designed by Aalim’s Studio. In Golmaal 3, the actor will be seen flaunting a tribal trishul tattoo on his neck, the concept and choice of which were Ajay’s himself. ‘It’s daring to have a tattoo on the neck, even if it’s temporary. No actor in India has done it on the neck,’ Aalim says, speaking about the tattoo.
Talking about Ajay Devgn’s look in the movie, Rohit says, ‘I wanted all the characters to have different looks in G3. For Ajay (who plays Gopal again), I wanted a character that looked different from everything he has done. He has been working hard on his body a lot, so we will have him flaunting his body.’
Ajay’s character in Golmaal 3, Gopal, is one of a man who loses his temper very easily, and people are scared of him due to his unpredictable behaviour. In the movie, Ajay also sports stubble and a buzz cutt.
So, all set to see a new, more macho and grungy Ajay on the silver screen?
By Bollywood Hungama News Network, April 13, 2010 - 16:06 IST
Golmaal 3 is the entire buzz. And the reason being, it's never-been-seen-before quality that the actors will bring to it. Everyone's going out of their comfort zone and doing something they have never attempted before. Where Kareena Kapoor will play a tomboy, Tushaar is playing the roadside 'Tapoori'; Ajay Devgan on the other hand has now revealed what he is bringing to this party.
We had seen the edgy styled Devgan in London Dreams, but what makes this look stand apart, is roughness around the edges. Not only is he now sporting a cropped look, and a diamond stud in his ear but he has also worked on his body and is planning to go all out to flaunt it, John are you listening?
What's really caught the attention is a certain tattoo that's doing the rounds, seems like celebrity tattoos are the statement of the season, remember Lara's? Well, Ajay is sporting a tattoo on his neck in this one, a first in Bollywood. No one's ever tried that and credit goes to Aalim's Studio, where Vishwas designed the tattoo but the concept and idea was all Ajay's. Says Aalim "The tattoo is of a Celtic or tribal trishul. It's daring to have a tattoo on the neck, even if it's temporary."
When it comes to the entire makeover, Aalim says "We have given Ajay the buzz cut, a stubble look overall, a more macho, masculine and grungy look than he normally sports." Ajay took a personal interest in his entire look, instead of leaving all on the stylists he actually got involved in the process. His clothes in the film will be styled by Navin Shetty.
The works have been done keeping in mind the character Ajay is playing. The credit for the same goes to director Rohit Shetty. Ajay is playing an extremely hyper character with a short fuse. He looses his temper at the drop of a hat and everyone is always scared of him. It's hard to figure what he would laugh or get angry about. Interesting! This is certainly new for Ajay. We wish him luck.
Trust Rohit Shetty to come up with some innovative lingo for Golmaal 3. Sources from the sets reveal that the director has incorporated some unique words in the film.
Apart from the funny one-liners and jokes, Rohit has coined up some new gaalis for his characters. A source reveals, "After watching the film, everyone is going to start using them.
They are not offensive and they just sound like some existing (and popular) gaalis. Some of the bad words in the film are Bhenchik, madar launde and Chuziye!"
The cast of the film has been in splits ever since they mouthed them, and are now using them in their everyday lingo.
