CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Mack Hollins looks back at what North Carolinas high-scoring offense did last year and thinks the Tar Heels can do even more. That would be quite a feat, too, considering the Tar Heels put up totals never seen before in the programs century-plus historyIf youre not getting better then youre getting worse, the receiver said Saturday on the teams preseason photo day. Theres no staying the same. So we all believe -- the entire offense and the entire defense believes well be better as a team as well as an offense. One thing is certain: that no-huddle offense running at go-go-go pace has become the defining characteristic of UNCs teams entering the fifth season under Larry Fedora. And with that unit posting big scoring totals, it provides quite a margin for error for the Tar Heels defense while putting a lot of pressure on opposing offenses to keep up.I believe that this offense has the potential to be better than last years offense, Fedora said. But theyve still got to do it.North Carolina averaged program records of 40.7 points and 486.9 yards last season, while the Tar Heels also set school records with 570 points, 6,817 total yards and a national-best average of 7.28 yards per play. That helped UNC match a program record with 11 wins and play for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship. That made it the fourth time in as many seasons that the Tar Heels finished in the top 10 of the program records for total offense per game. And as good as that unit was, it seemed to take a big step in November coming down the stretch to secure the programs first ACC Coastal Division title. First came a 66-point, 704-yard outing in a rout of rival Duke. A week later, the Tar Heels scored the first 45 points and finished with 487 yards in a 59-21 win against Miami. They closed the regular season by scoring 35 points in the opening quarter to beat rival North Carolina State on the road, then lost shootouts with then-No. 1 Clemson in the ACC championship game and against Baylor in the Russell Athletic Bowl to end the year.Hollins called that stretch the first time the offense has been run the way it was supposed to be.There were a few games here and there throughout Coach Fedoras tenure, but its never clicked for a consistent time like that before, Hollins said. When you win 11 games, you see its because its been clicking for so long. Thats a result we expect every year if were doing what were supposed to be doing. That unit returns an elite runner in junior tailback Elijah Hood and an experienced backup in speedy senior T.J. Logan. There are big-play receivers in Hollins, Ryan Switzer and Bug Howard. Theres a veteran offensive line. And while junior Mitch Trubisky is entering his first year as the full-time starting quarterback, hes played well in spot duty.Just because the pieces are there doesnt mean it happens, Fedora said. So theyve got a lot of hard work to do to make that happen. And theyve got to want it more than I do.---Follow Aaron Beard on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/aaronbeardap and the APs college football site at http://collegefootball.ap.orgScarpe Scontatissime Online . Jos Buttler has admitted Englands players have been forced to think about issues they have not previously considered, after the tour to Bangladesh was given the go-ahead but with the option remaining open for individuals to decide if they would travel.Late on Thursday evening, the ECB confirmed that the tour - scheduled to start on September 30 - would proceed, following the security assessment undertaken earlier this month. The one-day squad, plus Alastair Cook, were briefed at the team hotel in London with the players making use of the time to ask a significant number of questions. The squads for the tour will only be named after the current series against Pakistan is completed, so the question of whether any players will pull out may remain unclear for a couple of weeks. Buttler would be a certain selection for the one-day leg of the trip, but would not comment on whether he would tour despite describing the meeting as positive. There are things that people have probably never even considered before about cricket, and things people probably didnt realise went on for every single tour we go on, he said. They are normally never privy to these conversations behind the scenes. Its probably new ground for a lot of people, some guys in the meeting - Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook - were part of the team that went back to India in 2008 so have been in this situaation before and probably know how to deal with it.dddddddddddd But its new ground for people and its important we try to deal with it the best we can.It was a positive meeting with lots of information to digest. All you can say is its something you have to digest. Its tricky for us at the moment, weve got a game tomorrow and international cricket needs your full focus to perform well.Buttler would not divulge details of what was discussed at the team hotel but indicated there had been a reassuring level of information from Reg Dickason, the ECBs head of security, PCA chief executive David Leatherdale, head of operations John Carr and team director Strauss. However, Buttler was keen not to take his focus off the second one-day international against Pakistan at Lords on Saturday. It was a private meeting, there was a lot of information. As a player you felt there was a great duty of care from the board and a lot has been considered which was put across to the players, Buttler said. There was lot to digest which is tough to do mid-series - theres no good time for these things to happen - but they have to be discussed. Its paramount we are as professional as we can be and think about it when we can, but 11am tomorrow is not the time. ' ' '
