DETROIT -- Michael Fulmer has been baffling teams throughout a highly successful rookie season. The Boston Red Sox may have figured him out.Boston homered twice off Fulmer in the first inning and eventually scored six runs against him -- the most hes allowed in the majors -- in a 10-2 victory Friday night.Hes a very good pitcher who is very aggressive, said Jackie Bradley Jr., who hit one of Bostons two first-inning homers. We wanted to attack him right away. Hes going to come after you with the fastball, and we were looking for it.Fulmer figured out what the Red Sox were doing, but was already in a 4-0 hole after the first inning. They are a fastball-hitting team, and they were ready for my fastball, Fulmer said. It felt like every time I went inside, they were on it.The Tigers have lost nine of 12 after winning 10 of 11.It is a roller coaster, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. Ive gone through this every year of my career -- 25 years now. You have ups and downs.Boston starter Rick Porcello appreciated the early help.Thats huge, especially against a guy who has been pitching as well as Michael, Porcello said. Its always easier to pitch with a cushion, especially against that offense.Porcello was pitching for the first time at Comerica Park as a member of the Red Sox. He spent the first six years of his career with Detroit before being traded before the 2015 season. It was fun. Honestly, Porcello said in his usual low-key way. I think it helped that I pitched against those guys at Fenway last year and we came here last year, even though I didnt pitch. It was still weird being on the opposite side, though.Porcello is 17-3 with a 3.22 ERA, which no one appreciates more than his teammates. We gave him four runs in the first inning, and then he just did what he has done for us all year, said Hanley Ramirez, who drove in four runs. When we need a win, we know hes going to get us one. We had a tough loss yesterday, and he came out and shut them down.Porcello allowed four hits and two walks while striking out eight. His only major mistake was J.D. Martinezs two-run homer in the second inning.David Ortiz gave the Red Sox a 2-0 lead in the first with his 22nd career homer at Comerica Park -- a blast deep into the stands in right field. Ortiz has hit more homers in Detroit than in any other ballpark outside the AL East.Bradley gave Boston a four-run lead with the second two-run homer of the first inning, but Martinez pulled the Tigers within 4-2 with his two-run shot in the second. Both pitchers settled down after that, and the score didnt change until the sixth. Fulmer retired the first two hitters, but base hits by Sandy Leon and Brock Holt put runners on first and second. Andrew Benintendi and Dustin Pedroia followed with RBI singles to knock Fulmer out of the game.Ramirezs two-run double off Bruce Rondon made it 8-2 in the seventh, and he added another two-run double in the eighth off Mark Lowe.TRAINERS ROOMRed Sox: LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (hamstring) threw in the bullpen Friday and remains on pace to start Sundays series finale. ... RHP Steven Wright (shoulder) is expected to miss at least one more start, but could start throwing off a mound this weekend.Tigers: RHP Mike Pelfrey (back) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session before the game, and is scheduled to throw another on Sunday. He would then progress to a simulated game before reporting to the minors for rehab games.MARTINEZ LOCKED INJ.D. Martinez hit a long home run in his first at-bat, but his second one might have been even more impressive. He hit a line drive to the left side that ripped the webbing out of shortstop Xander Bogaerts glove on its way to the outfield. Bogaerts had to call time to get a new glove from the Boston dugout.SPIRIT OF CESPEDESWhile Yoenis Cespedes wasnt at Comerica Park on Friday night, he certainly had a major impact on the game. Before the 2015 season, the Tigers traded Porcello to the Red Sox for Cespedes, then shipped him to the Mets at the trading deadline for Fulmer. Both trades were made by then-Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski, who was back in town Friday in his new role as Red Sox president.UP NEXTThe teams play the third game in their four-game series Saturday night with Bostons Drew Pomeranz (9-9, 2.99) facing Daniel Norris (1-1, 3.47). Norris is 0-1 with a 12.27 ERA in two career outings against Boston, one of which was a start. Cheap Soccer Jerseys Store . HOUSTON -- Dontrelle Inman appreciates every moment in the NFL after the winding path he took to get here. His strong play this season is what Philip Rivers appreciates.Inman had 119 yards receiving, including a 52-yard touchdown reception to help the San Diego Chargers to a 21-13 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday.Inman was signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2011, but he was released before the regular season began and spent the next two seasons playing for the Toronto Argonauts. In 2014 he got another chance in the NFL when he was signed by the Chargers. Ever since, hes steadily improved. His main thing is he is dependable, Rivers said. You can count on him to run the right route, to play any position, to do his job every day. That is what we thought we were getting when we got him from Canada. (Former Chargers offensive coordinator) Frank (Reich) had talked to the coach he played for in Canada and he said: `If I had 41 ... Dontrelles, I would have a heck of a team.Rivers found a wide-open Inman for the 52-yard touchdown pass that tied it at 7 in the second quarter. Brock Osweiler was intercepted by Casey Hayward on the next drive, and San Diego took a 14-7 lead when Rivers connected with Tyrell Williams on a 21-yard scoring pass.Once you get that opportunity youre like: `Hey, this may be my last, Inman said. So a lot of guys take it like, `this may be my last (game), this might be my last catch. So Ive got to take advantage of every opportunity.Inman has a career-high 527 yards receiving this season and Sunday was his second 100-yard game this year. He had a career-best 120 yards against New Orleans on Oct. 2.Dontrelle knows only one way to do it, coach Mike McCoy said. It took him some time to get his opportunity, and once we gave him that opportunity, he ran with it ... hes done a phenomenal job. Some things to know about the Chargers-Texans game:FITTING IN WELL: Hayward has been a great addition for the Chargers this season after playing for Green Bay for the last four seasons. Haywards interception on Sunday gives him six this season, which ties his career high he set as a rookie in 20122.ddddddddddddIm so happy hes here, McCoy said. He deserves a lot of credit for helping our defense ... hes done a great job of fitting in.WEARY DEFENSE: The Texans defense was on the field too much Sunday because of multiple turnovers by the offense. Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney said it was difficult, but that its their job to handle those situations better.(It) put us in tough spots, he said. But it happens and youve got to go out there and bow up ... weve just got to control the game. The defense has to go out there and play better every week.PILING UP YARDS: Rivers had 242 yards passing Sunday to give him 3,128 this season. Its the 11th consecutive season Rivers has had at least 3,000 yards passing. But he didnt want to pat himself on the back for reaching the milestone. Instead he credited his teammates for helping him be so consistent. That to me is a team achievement, he said. A lot of guys contribute to yards.WILLS WORK: Houston rookie Will Fuller had four receptions for 60 yards on Sunday after failing to finish with more than 25 yards receiving in his last four games. He set up Houstons only touchdown with a nifty 33-yard grab in the second quarter. Fuller, who had two 100-yard games to start his career, has struggled with drops in the last few games.TOO MANY TURNOVERS: Osweiler has more interceptions (13) than touchdown passes (12) after throwing three interceptions on Sunday. Many of his interceptions this year have been when he tried to force the ball to DeAndre Hopkins, including his first one against the Chargers.Coach Bill OBrien said he hasnt thought about benching him for backup Tom Savage, and Osweiler vowed to take better care of the ball.I think every interception has a different story to it, he said. Unfortunately its happening too often, thats something that Ill study very hard tonight and Ill study very hard tomorrow as well, and Ill continue to move forward and try to improve.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL ' ' '
