Prity Bhutani, the good looking actress who was last seen in Ladies Tailor will be seen playing secretary to Ajay Devgan in Golmaal Returns.
The actress has been a huge fan of Ajay since Phool aur Kaante days. “I have been a big fan of Ajay and to share screen space with him is like a dream come true. He is a through professional individual. We rehearsed our scenes before every shot and I must say he is amazing,” says Prity.
Well Ajay, it seems Prity is quite impressed with your professional attitude. We wonder if the prankster is going to play any tricks on her. Be ready for the mischief, Prity.
If Karan Johar can’t get enough of his fave Shah Rukh, we think Rohit Shetty, too, can’t look beyond Ajay Devgan.
AD was a part of his first venture Zameen. Rohit then cast him in Golmaal, Sunday and now Golmaal Returns. As if that’s not enough, the director has gone ahead and finalised him for yet another venture. So Rohit, don’t blame us if people start talking about yours and Ajay’s camaraderie. Boy-oh-boy!
Mann-o-Mann!
Director Rohit Shetty is one person who likes to have familiar faces around him! So much so that he loves casting his favorite actors again and again!!! Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Mukesh Tiwari, Sanjay Mishra, Murli Sharma, Vrajesh Hirji are some of the people Rohit loves working with. Ajay's acting in Rohit's first film 'Zameen' , impressed him so much that he has cast him in 'Golmaal', 'Sunday' and the forthcoming sequel 'Golmaal Returns'. In fact, he has also finalized Ajay for his next venture with Dhillin Mehta of Shri. Ashtavinayak Cinevision of which one more hero and two heroines which will be finalized shortly. Its not just actors, but the technicians and the crew of his films are also mostly the same! Writers like Robin Bhatt, Yunus Sajawat, Saajid and Farhad are all people who enjoy Rohit's goodwill and immense faith. Well, with Rohit's track record of delivering hits after hits, it's a win win situation for all!!!
B-town may be flooded with sexy stars but when it comes to being naughty in terms of pulling pranks, the list gets selective. After all, not everyone can deflate their starry egos to ensure that in between takes and re-takes, there’s enough reason for blissful moments. Here’s a recap of some of the best pranksters in recent times
Ajay Devgan
One of the most unlikely candidates for qualifying as a prankster, Ajay Devgan has a natural appetite for practical humour. Shooting for Apaharan in rusty locations, the actor had found solace in a mosquito-killer racquet to get rid of the nuisance. And once everything was fine on that front, Ajay came up with a unique hobby of trying them on his co-stars and crew mates! As each one touched the racquet, they were met with a jolt of static electicity. It was enough to shorten their lives by a good year.
If that wasn’t enough, he would even replace the fake gun used on the sets with a squirting gun filled with water to take his co-stars by complete surprise.
The work of a new generation of Bollywood filmmakers, including the top three Bollywood films worldwide from 2007, will feature in a two-week Bollywood Film Festival at Cinema Nouveau in July. The films tackle topical issues such as match-fixing in cricket and horse racing and include the more usual glossy epics. The festival runs from July 4 to 17 at the Rosebank Mall, Brooklyn in Pretoria and Cavendish in Cape Town. Two films are directorial debuts by award-winning actors: Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par and Ajay Devgan's U Me Aur Hum.
Om Shanti Om is a spoof of 1970s Bollywood films; Saawariya is a love story. Jodhaa Akbar is an epic about the cross-religious love of a Muslim emperor and a Hindu princess, featuring former Miss World Aishwarya Rai and heartthrob Hrithik Roshan; the political thriller Black and White is about Hindu-Muslim strife. Race and Jannat are two films substantially filmed in South Africa, with horse racing and cricket as their respective themes.
Vanaja is a tale of the rise from poverty of a girl who becomes a dancer. For more information on the festival, go to http://www.sterkinekor.com or by call TicketLine at 082 16789.

Director Rohit Shetty's association with actor Ajay Devgan is well known. Ajay has been part of all of Rohit's projects be it Zameen, Golmaal, Sunday and even the yet-to-be released Golmaal Returns.
Now it seems that this association is only going further as Rohit has finalized his favorite hero, Ajay Devgan, for yet another film. Bollywood Hungama got in touch with the young director to get some more details, "Yes, I am directing Ajay for a film which will be produced by Shri Ashtavinayak Cinevision. It's going to be an action film starring two heroes. All this while, I was busy with Golmaal Returns hence haven't decided on the other cast members. We are yet to finalize the other hero and the two female leads. We plan to start the film sometime next year (2009) in April or May."
Besides the above mentioned film, Rohit would also be directing a romantic film for Devgan Films. "Yes, but that one wouldn't star Ajay, as the script demands a much younger actor", clarifies Rohit.
Currently, Rohit is busy with the post-production of Golmaal Returns, the sequel to his hit film Golmaal. "Yes, the shooting of Golmaal Returns is complete. Post-production is currently on and the film will release in Diwali this year", signs off the young and talented director.
After going through their share of conventional love stories with Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha and Raju Chacha, Ajay and Kajol Devgan had to do something really path breaking with their prestigious U Me Aur Hum. First half of the film was hardly path breaking but Devgans caught the bull by its horns the moment they got into a dramatic mould. With a complex subject revolving around Alzheimer's disease, the film could have fallen flat had the performances been any weaker but Devgans made sure that they give it all to a film which was a complete in-house product. ...
Ajay and Kajol Devgan booked a cruise, carried a video camera with them, took only their old clothes, sang a few songs and the result was U, Me Aur Hum. It carried a stale plot, and the storyline could have easily come from Readers` Digest. But pure ability kept this family holiday afloat at the box office and the star couple survived the wrath of the Bollywood critic. The Devgans made sure that this in-house project survived and for that success alone, we give them a table for two on our list!
Being in love is a beautiful experience but, for our Bollywood stars it’s a profitable experience too. The popular couples of Bollywood are no more hesitant to reveal their love lives to the world. Infact, they are not only appearing together publicly, but also sharing the same screen for 30- second advertisements. Surprisingly, their fans are nothing less than happy with their real to reel chemistry, adding to their popularity all around. Interestingly, considering the earlier scenario of Bollywood, celebrity hook ups and marriages were a taboo to their careers, forcing them to keep their personal lives under wraps. But, the present is completely opposite where, higher the visibility, greater is the popularity. To mention a few, daring couples like John- Bipasha, Saif- Kareena, Ranbir- Deepika and Ajay- Kajol are flamboyantly endorsing several brands on the small screen, adding not only to the sales of the brand, but also to their status and reputation.
Needless to say, be it soft drinks or home appliances, celebrity couples are the first choice of the advertisers as well as, the audiences. As believed by the renowned advertisers, the celebs have a high brand value leading them to a win- win situation, where the brands get sales and the celebrity couples get popularity. Infact, more the brands, higher the popularity!

... Though at least MEHBOOBA may have managed to rake in some moolah due to the presence of Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan in the film, the other two releases have never shown any promise whatsoever. ... MEHBOOBA does look lavish but all said and done; it is only the producer who is pumping money into the project with none of the stars associated with the film giving even a single newsbyte to the media. Except for the promotion of song and dance sequences, there is nothing else which has been talked about MEHBOOBA, hence re-emphasizing its status as an old product in which no one is interested any more. ...

In Bollywood, when you think of the word prankster, one name that instantly springs to your mind is Ajay Devgan!
The actor has played many pranks on innocent co-stars. The funny thing is that even if he is not playing a prank his co-stars have got into the habit of watching their backs.
On the sets of Toonpur Ka Superhero , we were surprised to see everyone running away from Ajay. On enquiring we learnt that a bomb blast sequence was being shot and it required Ajay to be completely covered in soot!
Not wanting to lose this opportunity, after the shot Ajay very innocently started going up to unit members and hugging everyone on some pretext or the other! Within minutes, everyone on the sets was running away from Ajay who was happily going around giving jadoo ki jhappis!
[Anm. d. Übers.: jadoo ki jhappi = magic hug = Munnabhai Umarmung!]
... 6. Haal-e-Dil This one would lead the charge for being unsuccessful in penetrating deeper into audience's heart. Anand Raj Anand, Vishal Bhardwaj, Pritam and Raghav Sachar did well in creating some really nice melodious music. However, just when it seemed to be picking up amongst the audience, the film's massive failure negated the escalation that the album was showing at the stands. Music of a film starring newcomers takes its own sweet time to grow but since Haal-e-Dil has gone down with a loud thud, the music too has followed suit! ... 8. U Me Aur Hum Not many would have given a chance for this Vishal Bhardwaj album to actually do well at the stands. Somehow one didn't expect a film starring Ajay Devgan and Kajol in a romantic lead to carry great music (even though they did enjoy some very good music around a decade back in Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha). This is why once U Me Aur Hum hit the stands, music lovers were pleasantly surprised to hear some good melodies like the title song coupled with foot tapping dance numbers in the form of 'Dil Dhakda Hai', 'Jee Le' and 'Saiyaan'! ...
