Kareena Kapoor is on her way to becoming B-town’s highest paid actress, leaving Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif behind. Here is why.
A source tells us, ‘Kareena has been offered the second sequel in the Golmaal series. Usually, she doesn’t do sequels so director Rohit Shetty is willing to pay her a whopping 10 crore to have her on board. In Golmaal Returns, Kareena played the nagging, suspicious wife perfectly and also upped the glam quotient of the film. There were 5 heroines in the film but only Kareena’s presence in the film was highlighted in the promotions.’
The source adds, ‘Kareena is at the top right now. Even when her career wasn’t going great guns, she believed she was the best and regained her superstar and Numero Uno status post the success of Jab We Met. Though Tashan flopped, she hogged the limelight with her size zero figure phenomenon and relationship with Saif. She was paid 2.5 crore for Kambakkht Ishq and 3 crore for Golmaal Returns. She was also paid a huge sum, almost 5 crore, for Main Aurr Mrs Khanna.’
He continues, ‘Even as far as endorsements are concerned, Kareena rules. She is probably the only actress who has refused a certain brand as she thought she was too young to endorse it. Moreover, she was paid 7 crore for a snack brand. She connects with the masses and they love her. Young girls aspire to be like her. She also propagates Yoga and eating right.’
According to sources, both Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif charge between 3 and 5 crore for their films. Aishwarya charges 5 crore.
So, if Kareena signs Golmaal 3, she will become the highest paid actress in Bollywood. The ensemble cast comprises Ajay Devgan, Tushar Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Shreyas Talpade, among others.
Prakash Jha's new movie "Rajneeti" will only hit theaters next May, but the stars of the movie, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar, Naseeruddin Shah, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Ranbir Kapoor have already joined the filmmaker in his efforts to raise money for a good cause, all the while promoting the movie!
The entire crew of "Rajneeti" is set to raise money for Jha's NGO Anubhooti, whose next mission is to build a self-sufficient hospital in the Bihar region for people in need of help, without regards to their religion, caste, political affiliations, or social status.
"To fundraise for this, the entire cast and crew of "Rajneeti " has been kind enough to whole-heartedly support and contribute to the efforts we are making for this hospital to become a reality," Jha said.
The famous filmmaker has already produced movies that deal with India's social issues like "Gangajal" and "Apaharan" but this time he has mobilized his entire cast to raise awareness and funds for his latest project! Smart move!
"We will be holding premieres and benefit dinners in 10 cities across the world to raise funds. We will be taking our appeal to New York, San Francisco, Toronto, London, Melbourne, Durban, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, and Muscat," Jha continued.

Nysa Devgn is not accompanying her mom Kajol for the outdoor of Karan Johar’s Hindi version of Stepmom in Australia.
Kads is known to never travel without her beti but this time around, she made an exception. And it is not hubby Ajay Devgn who is babysitting Nysa.
He, too, is busy shooting for Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge? Apparently, Nysa is very attached to Ajay’s mother Veena and is happy staying with her. Daadi ho to aisi!
