Actor Ajay Devgan is back in town from Bangkok, where he was shooting for Golmaal Returns.
Apparently, a song was left to be shot there. And Ajay made this business trip quite pleasurable by taking along wife and daughter. However, Devgan is back in good old Mumbai, and after a couple of days break has resumed shooting for Kumar Mangat's Toonpur Ka Superhero .
He and Kads seem to be enjoying shooting with the kids. Wonder if l’il Nysa also makes it to the sets sometimes to mingle with her ilk.
Not very long ago Manisha Koirala was declared 'down and out' by critics and audiences. But her life seems back on track now - she is enjoying her relationship with golfer boyfriend Chris and is looking forward to the release of long-pending film "Mehbooba".
After meeting Chris, Manisha is hooked on to golf and she attended the US Open 2008 golf championship in San Diego June 9-15.
"Chris, my boyfriend, is a professional golfer. I confess I got interested in golf only because of him. And now I love watching it. I went down to San Diego for the tournament because of Chris. And I was hooked," Manisha told IANS.
Manisha watched Tiger Woods walk away with the championship. "It was a historic moment and I'm so glad I was part of it."
Chris and Manisha have been seriously seeing each other since last year. He was, in fact, one of the guests for Manisha's brother Siddharth's wedding in January.
Now Manisha has invited Chris for his first full-fledged visit to India later this year.
"Yes Chris did attend my brother's wedding. I'm looking forward to having him over very shortly," said Manisha happily.
So is Manisha all set to become Bollywood's second golfer's wife after actress Chitrangada Singh?
"Oh I never thought of it that way. Let's see. Let's not jump the gun. I'd rather not talk about Chris too much right now. The minute a relationship gets in the limelight, it becomes subject to too much pressure. I'd like to see where it goes."
Manisha is also upbeat about the release of "Mehbooba", which was shot quite a long time ago.
"We completed the film almost two years ago. But it doesn't look dated at all. All of us - Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and director Afzal Khan have worked really hard on it. It's a lavish film. I wish it could have been released during producer Jhamu Sugandh's lifetime," Manisha said.
Chris hasn't seen any of Manisha's films yet, but she plans to show him "Mehbooba" when he visits India.
"At the moment I'm touring the US with Chris. And I couldn't be in a better place," she said with a smile.
... According to reports, Studio 18 is so worked up about Salman that it has bought the worldwide rights to his forthcoming movie ‘London Dreams’ for a whopping sum of Rs 120 crores.
The film that is directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, will see Sallu sharing screen space with actor Ajay Devgan. Produced by Vipul Shah, a total of 500 prints will be released across the globe.
The movie relates the story of childhood friends, who grow up to be musicians and are pitted against each other. After Hrithik Roashan’s ‘Kites’, which was sold for Rs 110 crore by Eros International, Sallu’s film has climbed to the number one spot as one of the most expensive film deals.
Die TV Show DUS KA DUM lässt Salmans Popularität in die Höhe schießen. (...)
Kumar Mangat takes on all accusations about Haal-E-Dil (by Shekhar Suman and others)
Auszug:
The buzz is that you and Ajay Devgan have had a fall-out. No. We are very much together.
Ajay and Kajol did not attend the premiere of your debut production Haal-E-Dil. Ajay was shooting out of town and Kajol had accompanied him there. So obviously they couldn't attend.
They could have flown in for a few hours... Kaam chhod ke aayenge kya?
Are you disturbed about the poor fate of Haal-E-Dil at the box-office? Several films release every year, but aren't there only a few hits? ...

Suddenly, the saas bahu brigade, closely followed by the big screen, has woken up to our ancient epics. The Ramayana and Mahabharata, which were otherwise relegated to the shelves of libraries, are being dusted and delved into and different ways of turning them into screenplays are being devised.
More than a decade ago, the two epics had understandably become extremely popular when they were turned into TV serials. But that was then. There was only one B R Chopra and one Ramanand Sagar in those days. The likes of Arun Govil (Ram) and Dipika Chikliya (Sita) enjoyed godly status at least for a while (it is another story that the poor actors are still struggling with that image). Nevertheless, exclusivity worked for them. And believe it or not, some even believed that they were gods in their latest avatars.
Coming back to the current scenario, if Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharata will have Anita Hassanandani playing Draupadi, Raj Kumar Santoshi’s big screen version of Ramayana might have Ajay Devgan (choke) as Ram and Kajol as Sita!
At the rate at which TV serials and films are being based on these epics, we are soon in danger of being trampled upon by Bheems, Rams, Dhritarashtras and Dushyasanas. Perhaps, the Bhishmas and Duryodhanas will be jostling for space with us in the 5.45 pm crowded locals. So, get ready for the world of over-the-top made up faces, reams and reams of dhotis, loads of artificial jewellery and thousands of extras waiting to be trampled upon by underfed elephants and horses!
The big question is that since every one seems to be making an epic film or serial, will my neighbourhood panwallah finally get the big break as Nakul? Or will my bai be the next Ganga?

Yusuf Khan, director of Sunny Deol-Suneil Shetty-Celina Jaitley starrer KHEL is keeping extremely busy these days. Though he is waiting to get his next biggie on floors, the man with a strong eye for technique is supervising finer details for films being made by his brother Afzal Khan.
Currently Afzal Khan has two films which are lined up for release - MEHBOOBA and GOD TUSSI GREAT HO. Not just has Yusuf helped cut the promos of the two films, he is also involving himself neck deep into their post production.
Confirms the multifaceted Khan who in the past has not just designed the background score for some of the biggest action films in Bollywood but also made quite a few cutting edge promos, "My brother Afzal has produced and directed MEHBOOBA while his other production GOD TUSSI GREAT HO is directed by first timer Rumi Jaffery. They are keeping quite busy in handling the promotion and market placement of the two films."
He goes on to add, "Since both are multistarrers (MEHBOOBA stars Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Manisha Koirala while GOD TUSSI GREAT HO has Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra coming together), I am working with them to ensure that the films get good visibility."
Well, MEHBOOBA has indeed being noticed so far for its grandeur feel while the well cut promos have managed to make an impression even though the film has been in the making for close to a decade. On the other hand promotion of GOD TUSSI GREAT HO should begin the moment MEHBOOBA is seen in theaters.
Confirmed for release on 11th July, MEHBOOBA boasts of some melodious music by Ismail Darbar. On the other hand GOD TUSSI GREAT HO music should be impressive considering it has the PARTNER team of Sajid-Wajid coming together with Salman Khan again. The film is set for a 15th August release.

Vipul Shah is gearing up to start his forthcoming film London Dreams . Vipul who has worked with Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan in most of his films will be working with Salman and Ajay for the first time. Thus the director has decided to have a small schedule where he can know the actors well.
Vipul confirms, “Yes I will have a small schedule with Salm an and Ajay Salman. We will be shooting next month on July 6. After that we will be having a big schedule when we will actually start the film.”
Explaining the idea behind shooting a small schedule before the actual shoot starts, Vipul said, “It will help us to know each other better as three of us have never worked together. Thus we have planned this small schedule.”
Interestingly this time his favourite actor Akshay is not part of his London Dreams . “Yes, he is not a part of it. This is the first time I’ll be working with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. Both are good and experienced actors. And it’s a rare combination as both haven’t done many films together. Hopefully we will share same rapport which I have with Akshay. I am looking forward to work with them.” He signs off.

After doing theatre and commercials for quite some time Prity is slowly but surely taking her steps towards the big screen. She will be seen playing a cameo in Golmaal Returns.
Prity believes that theatre and ad films did help in her films. “Theatre definitely helps. I can explore my acting. I can open myself through theatre. It removes the hitch in front of the camera.”
Speaking about Golmaal Returns Prity said, “It is an out an out comedy film and I am playing a cameo in that opposite Ajay Devgan. I am playing Ajay’s secretary. Kareena always imagines that Ajay is romancing me in the film. It was very interesting working with Ajay and Rohit Shetty. It was a dream come true working with such a big actor like Ajay Devgan.”
Taking about her future projects Prity said, “I am doing a role in Khalbali Hai Khalbali. I am also doing an item number in a film called Vikalp. I am also doing a film called Ek-the power of one.”
This was Ajay Devgan and Kajol’s first film post their marriage and again when audiences would have expected to romance each other post the success of films like Ishq and Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Ajay had a wife in the form of Mahima Chaudhary.
It was a love triangle where Ajay drifted from his marital bliss to fall for Kajol but at the end, he bid adieu to Kajol.
Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Manisha Koirala starrer Mehbooba is at last due to be released on 11th of next month. The shooting of the film started in 1999 but due to some major date problems of the film casts it took four long years for its completion.
In these four years, Manisha's popularity wasn't the same due to which no distributors were ready to buy the film. And now after four additional years the movie is all set to hit the cinema halls. But the question arises is whether the film made for the audiences belonging to 2000 would be able to leave any kind of impact on the hi-tech loving cinema audiences of 2008.
Well, looking at the shaggy promos of the film, it doesn't look like the film's posters would be hanging for long outside the cinema halls. Anyway, it is surely going to be a treat for those very few fans of this yesteryears Ilu Ilu Nepali actress.

Sanober Kabir, the petite young girl who made her big screen debut close to a decade back with MOTHER 98, is back in the limelight. She would be seen performing on an item number where she is required to dance in front of Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan for the film MEHBOOBA. The song is titled 'Babuji Bahut Dukhta Hai' which is rendered by Alka Yagnik, written by Late Anand Bakshi and composed by Ismail Darbar.
Everything from sets to costumes to a fort setting has a strong Rajasthani folk setting to it with Sanober getting into a naughty act. The number takes off from where 'Nimbooda' [HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM] left and though it could have easily breached into the territory of being vulgar, Anand Bakshi saab has done a right job in drawing a fine line with Alka Yagnik too giving a certain grace to the proceedings.
Incidentally the song was picturised more than 4 years back but is being seen only now since the film continued to get delayed over the period of time. However, to the credit of the people associated with the film, they have gone all out to ensure that MEHBOOBA doesn't look dated by any means.
Now one waits to see how 'Babuji' manages to resurrect Sanober's career who otherwise has been busy doing her music vidoes, most notable being the remix version of 'Meri Ber Ke Ber Mat Todo' which had turned out to be a huge hit. With her film career hardly paying off (each of her films from MOTHER 98 to ANGAAR - THE FIRE, BASTI and KYON? were resounding flops), 'Babuji' may well help Sanober grab some eyeballs in weeks to come.
Starring Manisha Koirala in lead, MEHBOOBA is produced and directed by Afzal Khan and is now all set for 11th July release.
