A special promotional song costing Rs. 6 crore was shot by director Rohit Shetty for Golmaal Returns at the Filmistan Studios in Goregaon, Mumbai.
Auszug:
The song, titled, Tha Karke, features the entire cast and crew of the film that included, Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Amrita Arora, Anjana Sukhani and Celina Jaitley. One can recollect, Shetty had shot a similar style number with the entire cast of his last film, Sunday and it featured in the film's opening titles.
The theme of the song is Goan since this Golmaal sequel too is based in Goa just like Golmaal was. The shooting of the song took the team a good 10 days. The song number was choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. The major cost of the song shoot went into the very expensive set specially erected to recreate Goa in Mumbai. The film is all set to release during the Diwali time on October 31st. The music of the film is all set to be launched in a two week's time. ...
New Delhi, Sep 11: The Supreme Court today directed the Tamil Nadu government to return Rs 50 lakh charged as penalty from Bollywood action director Veeeru Devgan for damaging the environment in the hill resort of Ooty during the shooting of Hindi movie 'Raju Chacha' starring his son Ajay Devgan and Kajol.
A Bench comprising Justice C K Thakkar and Justice Lokeshwar Singh Panta allowed the appeal of Veeru Devgan against the Madras High Court judgement directing him to pay a fine of Rs 50 lakh for damaging the environment of the picnic spot in violation of the rules during the shooting of his high budget film in 2003.
The High Court had dismissed his petition against the order of the Tamil Nadu government.
The apex court in its judgement found the impugned judgement of the High Court as unsustainable and allowed the appeal while directing the state government to refund the fine money taken from the appellant.

What can 150 seconds do? Well, a lot if adequately utilized. This is what was truly inferred once the 150 seconds theatrical promo of GOLMAAL RETURNS was unveiled this weekend. Directed by Rohit Shetty, this sequel of GOLMAAL is a powerhouse entertainer in the offering and after watching the promo, one can confidently declare that the film is a guaranteed SUPERHIT in the pipeline.
The film is an unabashed entertainer in the offering and promises to pack a lot with the arrival of the original team (sans Sharman Joshi who is replaced by Shreyas Talpade). Together, Ajay Devgan. Arshad Warsi, Tussha Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade along with Kareena Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora and Anjana Sukhani have fun unlimited as they set the frames on fire with their cool antics.
Watch Ajay Devgan arriving on two cars (he arrived on two bikes in GOLMAAL and earlier PHOOL AUR KAANTE) and Arshad Warsi getting the cool dude act right while performing bike stunts and other antics. However, the cake is taken by Tusshar Kapoor who not just takes his 'goonga' act to the next level but also joins the bandwagon of making a cool bike entry by standing on the moving vehicle in pursuit of Anjana Sukhani.
Rohit Shetty projects have always been full on masala affair, whether ZAMEEN, GOLMAAL or SUNDAY but GOLMAAL RETURNS appears to be the biggest and most chilled out of the lot. A 'masala mix' in the offering, it comes with the kind of vibes which SINGH IS KINNG came with as far as being a 'movie for the masses'.
A sure shot success at the box office, it deserves to be released at a huge print count (at least 800 just in India) to encash on the Diwali festive season. Promising to be the biggest ever success of the career of Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgan, GOLMAAL RETURNS has all in it to enter the 60 crores club!
Was kann in 150 Sekunden passieren? Oktober.
From being Bollywood's most sought after fitness and weight-loss expert to being one of the most dreaded villains on screen and now comedy, Shereveer Vakil has done it all and enjoying it to the hilt.
Recently, he was shooting with the huge cast of Golmaal Returns and he says, "The experience was great, as I have a great rapport with all the stars right from Ajay Devgan to Kareena and Tusshar since I have already been involved in their fitness programmes for the last 10 years and have also acted with many of them. I finally got a chance to work with Ajay whom I have always admired and whose career I have followed closely."
Perhaps that’s why they call Bollywood, “Mayanagri”, land of dreams.
After “U Me Aur Hum”, the Devgans are back in action again.
Since “U Me Aur Hum” did not do very well at the box office, Ajay has been very careful this time in choosing the script. He had, in fact, appointed a dozen writers to write the scripts and has selected the best one.
And, he is now ready to start a film as a director once again.
According to Kajol, the script of “U Me Aur Hum” was adapted from a Hollywood movie which is why it did not work in India. But now Ajay has ensured that it is an indigenous script.
This time it is a love story with Ajay and Kajol in the lead and Ajay is going to leave no stone unturned for this venture. He is at present looking out for a foreign location to shoot the movie.
Hope this time the foreign location does not become an excuse for the movie not doing well!

Shreyas thanked Ajay for going out of his way to make him feel included and a part of the gang while Tusshar said he had a blast shooting for the film and he found it extremely challenging to express so much with no words at all!! (...)

The Golmaal magic is back and how! Golmaal Returns has more stars and more gags than its prequel and is shot in a much grander scale. This means, there will be more fun as well.
“Golmaal Retuns has portions funnier than Golmaal. Like Golmaal, Golmaal Returns too has a spoof on Black. Also this time unlike me, it would be Arshad who will be bullying all of us,” said Ajay Devgan.
This time there are more heroines in the film as well. Ajay jokingly said, “We did pressurize Rohit to have more girls because we were bored the last time with very few women on the sets,” said Ajay. Added Arshad Warsi, “Only one heroine getting all the importance and attention was not fair.”
Arshad further added, “ Golmaal Returns is much funnier, bigger and is done on a larger scale. We have got more actors. Rohit has an ability to always overdo himself. If he knocked out 20 cars in the last film, in Golmaal Returns there are 30. And the best is the action song sequence. Have you seen a song where cars are being blown up. You have to see it to believe it.”
Anjana Sukhani of the Sunday fame said, “I have had the most exciting time shooting with them. The whole atmosphere was so funny that it flew through.”
Tusshar Kapoor who is again playing the muted guy in the film said, “Doing this film was more fun because I had more friends like Kareena and Shreyas. We were shooting a sequel of a hit film. So the luxury was much more.” “I had more scenes with the guys in the film. But Kareena, Amrita and I used to do yoga everyday and workout everyday. That was very good,” concluded the glamorous Celina Jaitley.
Ajay Devgan has never believed in walking the conventional path. When an offer came to him to promote his next, Golmaal Returns by offering prayers at Lalbaug-cha Raja, the actor flatly refused saying he wouldn't want to use God like that.
Says a source close to Ajay, "Though Ajay is an extremely religious person who has Ganpati in his office and often visits religious places like Tirupati and Ajmer Shariff, for him God and worship are very sacrosanct and private beliefs. Being an intensely private individual, he doesn't like a public show of those beliefs.
So when an offer came from some people involved with the Lalbaugcha Raja puja to promote GR he said no without hesitation. Ajay told Rohit Shetty, GR's director, through whom the offer came, that he'd prefer to pray in his heart rather than offer prayers at such a public place and use God like that."
The buck stops here
Rohit admits that such a thing happened. "An association linked to Lalbaugcha Raja approached me saying that the whole cast and crew could come for prayers so when I asked why they were inviting us they said to promote Golmaal Returns. Though I've visited Lalbaug-cha Raja many times I have never been there to promote my films and to suddenly do it was like 'Bhagwan ko ullu banaya'.
I told Ajay about it and we both rejected the offer. Ajay was adamant that we not go. He said that to go as devotees and then promote one's film is not done. There's a limit to promotion. It should stop at God at least. I believe in praying at home."
Rohit says Ajay has been down with a viral ever since his last trip to Bangkok but that hasn't stopped the actor from completing his dubbing. "His voice has been particularly bad but then he had to complete the dubbing as he's leaving for Paris today. Even though he was very unwell, he and the rest of the three boys Arshad, Tusshar and Shreyas appeared on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on Monday to shoot for it.
Look who’s cashing in on the popularity of Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Kareena’ tattoo — director Rohit Shetty. In Golmaal Returns, Ajay Devgan is shown trying to woo Kareena Kapoor but the actor’s many attempts to please the beauty go to waste. And it’s only when Kareena spots a tattoo on Ajay’s chest that she falls for him. Any guesses what the tattoo is? Since nothing but ‘Saif ’ can impress the woman — that’s what is written on Ajay’s chest!
After the success of his directorial debut U Me Aur Hum, Ajay Devgan returns to the big screen doing what he does best - acting. Bollywood columnist DEVANSH PATEL takes a sneaky peek at two of his new films - Golmaal Returns and London Dreams
IT'S been one of the most eagerly anticipated sequels in a couple of years and at long last the wait is over with the arrival of this year's most talked about film, Golmaal Returns. We got the first look of the film last week in Mumbai at Cinemax Theatre in the presence of the entire A-star cast comprised of Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Celina Jaitely, Shreyas Talpade and Anjana Sukhani.
Apparently, the other two lead actors, Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Arora, could not make it due to other commitments.
The film poster was there for the world to see, alongside a video promo and one of the songs in the movie, and I have to say the feature, directed by Rohit Shetty, looks like a rollercoaster ride filled with tons of laughter.
The success of the film's prequel Golmaal has raised a lot of expectations for Golmaal Returns, and judging by the way sequels have fared in Bollywood recently, all eyes are set firmly on the film.
The producers of the film, Shree Ashtavinayak, are also planning a special screening for the UK media sometime in October, which makes sense because their lead actor Ajay Devgan happens to be in town filming for his next biggie, London Dreams.
By the way, Golmaal Returns is ready to hit the big screens across the world on October 29.
But that's not all. Don't be surprised if you see Ajay Devgan walking down Oxford Street next month.
That's right! The actor is scheduled to arrive in London on September 27 to shoot his next big feature directed by Vipul Shah called London Dreams.
Accompanying him will be his co-star, and superstar of Bollywood, Salman Khan, and the new face from the south of India, Asin.
Now we all know that any film which Vipul Shah touches turns to gold but what is surprising is the fact that his lucky mascot, actor Akshay Kumar, is not a part of this mega-project. Akki, as he is fondly known in the industry, has worked with Vipul Shah in all his previous films and his absence from this film will definitely raise a few eyebrows.
Having said that, London Dreams also marks the return of Salman and Ajay together after their 1999 blockbuster hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. It'll be interesting to see how they transfer their magic on to the silver screen this time around after nearly a decade.
Vipul Shah's earlier film Namastey London was also set in the capital and with his great interest and love for this city, I am not at all surprised to see him come back and shoot the film here.
He has even managed to use the name 'London' for both his previous and new film titles. Whether this is down to superstition or not, I don't know, but what I do know for sure is that it will be a big film to watch out for next year.
New stars come and go, but seldom do truly great screen actors appear, performers of such intensity and focus they are near-guaranteed a long, illustrious and award-strewn career. Such an actor is Ajay Devgan.
Like many Indian acting talents before him, he faced being typecast as a hardcore action hero but, through a combination of hard study for his roles in films like Zakhm and Apaharan, and risky experiments like Golmaal, he rose above that demeaning destiny to become one of the very few National Award and Filmfare winners.
For the most part steering clear of big budget mainstream Bollywood projects, he has now cemented his reputation as both an artist and a character actor.
Ajay Devgan's open invite to his U.K. fans, while he shoots for London Dreams By Bollywood Hungama News Network, September 19, 2008 - 12:33 IST
Now this is coming to you straight from London. And of course, when it comes to exclusivity, Bollywood Hungama is the name to be trusted. Thursday, Sept 18, saw a breaking news in London's Observer series newspapers that our very own Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan has planned a never before idea to interact with his U.K fans. U.K's second largest newspaper company Trinity Mirror's Bollywood Columnist of the Harrow Observer newspaper Devansh Patel did a full page story on Ajay's two big releases Golmaal Returns and London Dreams. Ajay Devgan will be in London for 45 days along with Vipul and Salman for the principal shoot of London Dreams. The actor turned director came up with this unique idea to interact with his fans in the U.K by sending personal replies to each and every fan of his who emails him on his U.K. email ID which is ajaydevganuk@gmail.com . Away from the hustle bustle of Mumbai city, Ajay will have quite some time to know his fans one on one. In the stars absence, we did get hold of Ajay's executive assistant Mangesh, who said, "We are very happy that Ajay has come up with this different concept which no one has yet tried and tested. He wanted to do something different than just blogging. Personally, Ajay is all excited to reach London now. He can't wait to get his hands on the computer. Thanks to the Observer series newspapers which carried the story, the one day old news has already garnered quite a lot of excitement in London."
The personal invite from Ajay Devgan reads - "Hello Londoners. I am coming to your city to shoot my next film London Dreams on September 27. Come and share your dreams with me - what you like and what you don't, or ask me what you want and I'll reply personally. Email me on ajaydevganuk@gmail.com and experience the magic. It's 'U, Me Aur Hum' time guys! Can't wait to hear from you all".
What a way to end your personal note Mr Devgan. Indeed, it's 'U, Me Aur Hum' time and it can't get any personal than this! With so much fan following around the globe, we at Bollywood Hungama won't be surprised to see emails coming only from the U.K. Will this small personal invite from Ajay to his U.K fans create a big wave across Bollywood? Only time will tell.
So lautet Ajay Devgans persönliche Einladung: "Hallo Londoner!
Most makers of mega budget movies, who shoot films abroad, simply take stock shots of streets and famous locations in foreign locations and erect elaborate sets back home for indoor portions.
Indoor shoots
The makers of London Dreams, whose film is based in the England and other European cities, are presently in Paris shooting. But according to reliable sources, the makers of London Dreams have booked the entire Nitin Desai studio in Karjat on the outskirts of Mumbai for two months; and that's where the whole film will be shot. They are in Paris to shoot scenes on the streets for authenticity.
A source reveals, "London Dreams is the story of a rock band set in London. The first schedule of the film was to be in London, and then the unit was to head to Paris and Rome. The film was to be completed in two months but now they've booked the studio for two months, which means the full film will be shot there.
The team at Nitin Chandrakant Desai's studio in Karjat are working round the clock to erect the massive set. The shooting begins in the first week of October and ends in December the same time they are supposed to shoot in overseas locales."
In passing
The source further adds, "The makers are taking passing shots of the actors on real locations and the rest will be replicated at the ND studio. Vipul flew in from London last week and chatted with Desai about what his requirements are."
Vipul Shah, the director of the film says, "This is not correct." London Dreams stars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.
Actor Ajay Devgan, who is known for his casual laidback approach to style and fashion, is believed to have suddenly become very particular about his styling. It seems that the prospect of having to share screen space with Salman Khan in Vipul Shah's London Dreams has suddenly made the actor very particular. Both the actors are quite conscious of the fact that they are pitted against each other in the film. And neither is leaving a stone unturned in their effort to look better than the other. One of Devgan's photoshoot for the film had reportedly given Salman such a complex, that he had asked for a reshoot. Now it seems to be Devgan's turn to feel a little insecure. He is believed to be taking his time in giving his inputs on the look of his character for the movie. The actor is believed to have flown his hairstylist and designer with him to Paris, where the film's first schedule will be shot. It is believed that the makers of the film have booked Nitin Desai's studio in Karjat for two months. The entire film will be shot there. The unit is currently in Paris, where they will shoot scenes on the streets. Deasi's team is understandably working around the clock to construct the sets for the film. The shooting at Karjat will begin in the first week of October and end in December. The makers will also simultaneously be shooting on outdoor locations abroad.
