Apart from getting sun-tanned in Goa, Bipasha Basu has been catching up on her swimming lessons after pack-up, while shooting for Ajay Devgan's home production, All The Best, directed by Rohit Shetty.
Says the actress, "I like to swim in the night but it's too dark and it's high tide mostly when I go to swim. So till now, I haven't swum in the ocean." Bipasha is catching up on her swimming at Cancona beach where the cast has been put up. As reported the actress was keen to learn belly dancing, swimming and driving.
"But after just a couple of lessons, I had to come to Goa. So now every night after pack- up and after working out at the gym, I practise in the hotel pool." Bipasha is not afraid of swimming. She laughs, "The pool is so shallow that I can stand in it as I am tall. This is because of the universal law that states no hotel can have pools of more than five-and-a-half feet deep, that I can stand there."
Apart from swimming, Bips is also having fun catching up with her co-stars Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt. "There is loads of mazaak and masti on the sets." She continues, "We have just shot a song and we will be in Goa for a month and a half."
Veteran writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar and his equally talented actor wife Shabana Azmi have been voted the best couple in Bollywood in an online poll conducted by matrimony portal BharatMatrimony.
The elegant couple, who managed to woo 29 percent votes, pipped star couples like Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan-Gauri, Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai, Ajay Devgan-Kajol, et al to win the title, stated a press release.
The results came nearly a month after the portal had conducted a survey to find out the "best power couples" and "best Bollywood couples" of 2009 as part of Matrimony Day April 14.
The survey involved 20,800 individuals who had cast their vote.
In the best power couple category, business magnate Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani walked away with the lion's share of votes, leaving behind contenders like N.R Narayana Murthy-Sudha Murthy, Anil Ambani-Tina Ambani, Lakshmi Narayan Mittal-Usha Mittal, Robert Vadra-Priyanka Gandhi and Yash Birla-Avanti Birla.
"We conducted this celebrity poll on Matrimony Day to highlight happy couples to generate interest among our most relevant audience to experience the joy of togetherness," said Murugavel Janakiraman, founder and CEO of BharatMatrimony.
Sanjay Dutt has started shooting for buddy Ajay Devgan's production, All The Best & Fun Begins, in Goa after a gap of two months.
Says a unit member, "He has completed a few scenes and a song picturisation. Though buzz was that he was giving attitude and delaying the shoot, both Devgan and Dutt refuted the rumours." The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, also has Bipasha Basu, Fardeen Khan and Mugdha Godse in the cast.
Gaana bajaana
Currently a song choreographed by Bosco-Ceasar is being filmed at Cancona beach. Rohit is happy that he has the entire cast for the song picturisation.
"I couldn't stop smiling. The song is going to be bigger than Tha Kar Ke in Golmaal Returns," says Rohit. "Everyone was telling me that yeh film nahi banegi and will be delayed, but we have proved everyone wrong. It is fun working with Sanju, Ajay and Fardeen. We hang out together after pack up, work-out together in the gyms, play volley ball it's like a picnic."
Though Rohit knows Dutt personally, All The Best is his first film with the star. Says Rohit, "I had heard too many things about Sanju before I started shooting. Now I have learnt not to believe anything till you work with the actor yourself. People would say he comes late and cancels shootings but that's not true. He is sweet and humble. He's been in the industry for 30 years but doesn't flaunt his knowledge and yet he's intelligent you need to explain once and he's got it."
Rohit informs, "There was a scene where Sanju had to play the drums. We had two trainers from Mumbai for him. We thought he would practice. When he came on the sets, he told me if he could do it his own. Sanju shot in one take. And I sent the trainers to Mumbai!"
After campaining for the elections, Sanjay Dutt has started shooting for ‘All The Best- Fun Begins’ produced by Ajay Devgan Films and directed by Rohit Shetty in full swing in Goa.
Apart from Sanjay Dutt, the laugh riot stars Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu & Mugdha Godse in the lead.
The second schedule of the film is currently going on and a song choreographed by Bosco-Ceasar has been shot on a lavish set constructed on a South Goa beach.
The Cinematographer is Dudley, Story and Screenplay by Robin Bhatt, Yunus Sajawal, Farhad-Sajid. The Dialogues are by Farhad-Sajid and Bunty Rathore while Music is by Pritam, Lyrics by Kumar, Editing by Steven Bernard, Art by Narendra Rahurikar and Action by Jai Singh.

The management team behind $50m Mumbai-based Cinema Capital Venture Fund (CCVF) is in Cannes looking for international projects.
International films will be added to the fund’s current portfolio of Bollywood films.
CCVF managing partner Samir Gupta says the fund, which launched last year, has already invested around $10m in domestic productions and is now looking to branch out into international films.
“We aim to invest around $5-7m a year in international projects, which are likely to be UK-based in the early stages although we’re not restricting ourselves to English-language films,” Gupta told Screen.
Structured as a five-year closed-end fund, CCVF was granted approval by the Securities and Exchanges Board of India (SEBI) last year. Projects are evaluated by the CCVF management team and also submitted to Ernst & Young’s Mumbai-based media evaluation team.
CCVF management also includes former UTV executive Sanjay Bhattarcharjee and former Adlabs executive Mohit Mehra. Gupta was formerly head of factual entertainment producer FBC Media’s Indian arm and produced Shashank Ghosh’s debut feature in 2003.
On the domestic side, Gupta is working with the new breed of young producers who want to develop slates of projects outside the Indian studio system – although they still aim to tap the studios’ distribution muscle. Among the filmmakers Gupta is working with are Priyadarshan, Rohit Shetty and actor-turned-producer Ajay Devgan.
India is currently experiencing a funding crunch which Gupta says works to CCVF’s advantage: “We’ll be able to find projects that are more realistically priced – we’re pleased about the market correction.”
... All The Best is like No Entry. It's a situational comedy and it's crazy. You will be laughing your guts out from the word go. It's a good mix, I am having fun with all of it. ...
übersetzt von Diwali: Bipasha Basu über All The Best: "All The Best ist wie No Entry. Eine verrückte Situationskomödie. Ihr werdet euch vom ersten Moment an einen Ast ablachen."
Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Bipasha Basu on the sets of All The Best By Bollywood Hungama News Network, May 18, 2009 - 13:15 IST
Rohit Shetty, the name behind Golmaal and Golmaal Returns is back with a bang and how! If the mega starcast and the curiosity of his next film All The Best- Fun Begins is anything to go by, then, one can easily say that Rohit is sitting on a goldmine. This film stars Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse and Fardeen Khan.
The moment we saw Sanju baba on the first day of the shoot, we just couldn't our eyes off him. He was looking like a true Rock Star with those glares and tattoos. Added to that was the cool scarf that plied its way on Sanju baba's neck. In short, Baba was all set to shoot this jazzy number with Bipasha and Ajay. The second schedule of the film is currently on and this song choreographed by Bosco-Caesar is being shot on a lavish set constructed on a South Goa beach. Pritam has composed the music for the film.
Knowing Sanjay Dutt's dedication and Rohit Shetty's penchant for comedy, one becomes absolutely sure that this Diwali bonanza that's slated for 16th October release will surely redefine 'Fun'! Just bring on the fun, we say!
With Salman Khan refusing to use his clout to get his colleagues to make an appearance on 10 Ka Dum, the show still has no celebrities on board
Auszug:
... A source said, The makers have approached actors like Ajay Devgan and Kajol, Sanjay Dutt with wife Manyata, Bipasha Basu, Mallika Sherawat, Shilpa Shetty, Anil Kapoor and Sonam to appear as guests on 10 Ka Dum, however they still have not got confirmations from any of them. ...
Prior to Vipul Shah’s London Dreams, the only film that Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan have acted in is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
As fate would have it, Salman was playing the role of a singer in HDDCS but in London Dreams both of them play singers and both are part of a band. There are a lot of scenes where the two of them have to act as performers and had to sing for the benefit of camera.
Both the actors don’t take their singing abilities very seriously, but while shooting one particular scene in Royal Albert Hall in London, there was a bit of a competition between them as singers and it was decided that they would have a proper singing competition. The rest of the cast and crew were to judge who is a better singer between the two.
While Salman sang one of the songs of his film Tere Naam, Ajay sung a Kishore Kumar number. “The singing competition started as a joke, but both became pretty serious and sung their songs with complete zeal. Everyone was finding it difficult to openly tell the stars who is a better singer, so it was decided that they would carry out secret voting. In that, Ajay edged out Salman,” says Vipul, who was witness to the talent competition, which for a change had stars competing.
And Sanjay Dutt, after the Samajwadi Party’s no-show in the recent parliamentary elections, has returned to acting with a vengeance. BT caught him banging the drums like a rockstar for Rohit Shetty’s All The Best — Fun Begins.
Apparently Dutt, like Saif Ali Khan, is fond of music, and is handy with the guitar. But he stunned everyone on the sets when he took to the drums like a pro while shooting in Goa. A song required Sanju baba to play the drums and for that, Rohit had flown down professionals to teach him the art.
But Dutt sent them packing! He did the scene in one take, impressing everyone! A startled but nonetheless grateful Rohit admitted, “Till now I knew he could play the guitar, but the drums came as a surprise.” The film which is a laugh riot also stars Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Mugdha Godse.
Actor and Samajwadi Party General-Secretary Sanjay Dutt, after campaigning for the recent Lok Sabha elections that was full of controversy, more so for his offer of jaadu ki jhappi to Mayawati, is back at work on the sets of All The Best - Fun Begins. The second schedule of the film has been on in Goa since May 1 and Dutt, who plays Dharam, a London-based rich businessman and step-brother to Fardeen Khan, joined the unit on May 8.
The shooting for the film has been facing a lot of hindrance since the unit moved to Goa.
First Dutt was busy with campaigning, then Fardeen Khan was recovering from his father Feroz Khan’s unfortunate demise and actress Mugdha Godse met with an accident on May 5 when her car skidded off the road on Pune expressway while on her way to Pune to visit her parents before flying off to Goa. She was down with severe neck injury.
The film directed by Rohit Shetty also stars Bipasha Basu and Ajay Devgan, who is also the producer. During the current spell, a song choreographed by Bosco-Ceasar was shot on a lavish set constructed on a South Goa beach. Shooting will continue till June-end, after which the entire unit will shift to South Africa to complete the film. Plans are on to release the film, co-produced by Kumar Mangat, on October 16, the Diwali week.
Ajay Devgan has been friends with Sanjay Dutt for the longest time. The two have done several films together like Mehbooba (never mind its fate) and are currently working in Devgan’s home production, All The Best —Fun Begins.
But it isn’t Sanjay that Ajay is all praise for. It is Sanju’s wife Maanyata. He explains that the Sanjay he has known all these years has been very careless with his earnings, very careless about his health etc. Maanyata, according to Ajay, keeps Sanjay rooted. “She’s helping him save his earnings and also motivating him to give his film career complete attention. Sanju is the Robert De Niro quotient for Bollywood. And if he listens to his wife, he can rock for the next five to seven years at least,’’ says Ajay. Well, guess he knows best.
Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan aren’t the best of friends but they do share a warm camaraderie.
The two actors, who are as different as chalk and cheese, got along famously on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1998. Aishwarya Rai, the film’s heroine, also shared a good rapport with both her leading men, as with Bhansali himself. A decade later, Salman and Ajay find themselves on the sets of Vipul Shah’s London Dreams, where they have picked up the threads of their relationship.
Vipul confirms that his leading men bonded on the sets in London, but Ajay says, “I don’t know if there is any special chemistry between Salman and me. That is for the audience to judge. Chemistry is something that is visible when a film is successful. Otherwise it doesn’t show.” However, he confirms that Salman is one of the most hassle-free co-stars. “He never interferes with a script or his co-stars and does exactly what is told to him. In that sense, there wasn’t any insecurity between the two of us.”
The story goes that one evening after pack-up, the two sat down for drinks and when they got tipsy, sentiments ran high. A unit member who was present says the two stars went back to the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam days. Ajay admits that Salman and he did share a few drinks but declined to mention what they then discussed “because it is very personal”. Now the two stars are not drinking together “for health reasons”. However, sources on the set snidely say that it’s not so much “health” as “reasons of the heart”. Any idea what they could have talked about, then?
Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan during the film shoot earlier this year.
An overworked Fardeen Khan flew to Mumbai from Goa last week to attend to some urgent domestic chores.
The actor had to fly to the sets of Ajay Devgan’s All The Best-Fun Begins immediately after organising his father Feroz Khan’s prayer meet; and there were many incomplete tasks to be taken care off.
After a few days of shooting, FK Junior had to fly to Mumbai because after his father’s demise, there are many things he has to personally supervise at their home and office,” says a source close to Junior. All the hectic shooting and flying finally got to Fardeen. And he actually fell asleep right in the middle of a shot on his sets in Goa.
Unfortunately, he had a hot cup of tea in his hand when he dozed off; and the tea spilled onto his groin and lap, waking him up with a start!
Had the tea been scalding hot, Fardeen would have been dangerously close to suffering serious burns,” says a unit member. “Fortunately he got away with just feeling hot, hot, as the tea trickled down his trousers,” he adds.
