Even though her neck injury is yet to heal completely, Mugdha Godse hasn't stopped shooting for her two films All The Best and Jail. Her role in Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail doesn't require much physical stress but All The Best, being a Rohit Shetty film, needs her to everything that a quintessential Bollywood heroine is expected to do.
"Which means lot of music and dance", laughs Mugdha who is getting used to Bollywood scheme of things with her first full on 'masala' fare in the form of All The Best that has her paired opposite Fardeen Khan. Just having returned from her Goa stint for All The Best, she is currently shooting in Mumbai for Jail which is expected to wrap up by month end.
So how has the experience been in Goa? "It was great fun though I had to be extra careful during the song shoot", says Mugdha who didn't quite get to show her dancing skills in her debut flick Fashion, "I continue to wear neck band when I am off the sets. It is quite comfortable and the healing process has been faster too. In any case, I can't afford to take much risk, what with shooting of both Jail and All The Best happening in parallel."
She still did risk her neck though as she danced non-stop for a racy number in All The Best. "In fact director Rohit Shetty and the choreographer were quite considerate and suggested that I pick up lighter dance steps. But then that would have been unfair on my part, especially because everyone else who participated in the dance shoot were working so hard."
"In any case, I myself didn't want to miss out on the opportunity of giving my best for All The Best. I have seen Rohit getting such fabulously choreographed numbers like 'Tha Karke' and 'No Vacancy' in his last release Golmaal Returns. Why should I have settled for anything lesser", questions Mugdha who ensured that she took adequate precautions to save her neck injury from further getting aggravated.
The song that she features in is extra special for Mugdha as it was shot on outdoor location of Goa and boasted of the entire star cast comprising of Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu, Fardeen Khan and herself.
"Watch out for the song. It's going to make waves on its arrival", declares Mugdha before signing off.
Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan aren’t the best of friends but they do share a warm camaraderie.
The two actors, who are as different as chalk and cheese, got along famously on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1998. Aishwarya Rai, the film’s heroine, also shared a good rapport with both her leading men, as with Bhansali himself. A decade later, Salman and Ajay find themselves on the sets of Vipul Shah’s London Dreams, where they have picked up the threads of their relationship.
Vipul confirms that his leading men bonded on the sets in London, but Ajay says, “I don’t know if there is any special chemistry between Salman and me. That is for the audience to judge. Chemistry is something that is visible when a film is successful. Otherwise it doesn’t show.” However, he confirms that Salman is one of the most hassle-free co-stars. “He never interferes with a script or his co-stars and does exactly what is told to him. In that sense, there wasn’t any insecurity between the two of us.”
The story goes that one evening after pack-up, the two sat down for drinks and when they got tipsy, sentiments ran high. A unit member who was present says the two stars went back to the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam days. Ajay admits that Salman and he did share a few drinks but declined to mention what they then discussed “because it is very personal”. Now the two stars are not drinking together “for health reasons”. However, sources on the set snidely say that it’s not so much “health” as “reasons of the heart”. Any idea what they could have talked about, then?

Ekta Kapoor's Once Upon A Time In Mumbai starring Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Prachi Desai will soon be ready to roll — but one actor who won't be part of it will be Ekta's cousin actor-director Abhishek (Gattu) Kapoor. Gattu (director of last year's Rock On) was last seen in Shikaar (2007).
Buzz up! Ekta was keen that Abhishek play the police officer who sets out to arrest the underworld dons (played by Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi). The source reveals, "Gattu, Ekta and Milan Luthria (director) met a few times. Things were almost working out till Gattu named his price."
Gattu is hesitant to talk about the role offered to hims, "I do get many acting offers but it would unfair of me to disclose the details. My priorities are very clear. Right now, I am only focusing on direction but if something good comes (in the way of roles), I might accept it. But I won't do anything on a lark." The director believes cousin Ekta isn't upset that he isn't doing her film, "Ekta knows if she really wants me in any of her films she just has to call me and ask.
Gattu denies that money was the issue, "It's all depends on what is the part and how you offer it. It's various permutations and combinations. I would love to work with Tusshar and Ekta too in the future but the opportunity has to be bigger and larger if we are all coming together in one film."
Another source says, "After the narration, he refused the role, as he wasn't happy with it. Also he wanted us to complete his portions by July-August because of his directorial commitments and we couldn't, so it didn't work out."

After much deliberation, Ajay Devgan has decided to take the plunge and get his daughter Nysa's name tattooed on his back.
Always on my mind... and back! Ajay Devgan with daughter Nysa
Says a source close to the actor, "Ajay's very keen on getting a tattoo. He's seen Rohit Shetty and Sanjay
Always on my mind... and back! Ajay Devgan with daughter Nysa Dutt's tattoos and was quite impressed by them. This time, when Aalim (who styles Ajay's hair and owns a tattoo parlour) came to Goa for Rohit's All The Best, Ajay expressed his desire to have one too."
Keeping it simple
Devgan has been in talks with Aalim the last couple of months about the size and style of tattoo he wants. The only thing he is sure of is: that he wants it to be simple and unassuming like the man himself. The source adds, "He adores Nysa and wants to have her name tattooed (most probably) on his back.
Ajay hasn't gone for a tattoo earlier as he didn't want to be part of a crowd. He decided on his daughter's name as she's most precious to him and he will carry her with him wherever he travels." Akshay Kumar too has his son Aarav's name inked on his back.
It's personal
Aalim says, "Ajay's loves fast and expensive cars, designer watches, spacious homes he's the quintessential Marlboro guy so yes, getting a tattoo was something he always wanted. We have been in discussion for months."
Apparently, Ajay asked him to draw some designs and show them to him when he came to Goa to do Sanju's tattoos. "Ajay doesn't want to flaunt tattoos out of shauq but do something meaningful and personal. He's also very shy and might change his mind at the last moment."
Nysa's name will be tattooed in either English or Devanagari with an Arabic touch. The design will be simple yet with little touches that Devgan will approve of when Aalim flies down to meet Dutt and Devgan next month in Goa.

Relax, guys before you visualize the tall dark handsome actor getting his pants unbuttoned (like counterpart Akshay), we are referring to the affectionate act, for a change. It elates us to reveal that after action king Akshay geared up to get his son Aarav's name inked on his back, now Ajay Devgan too has decided to take the plunge and get his darling daughter Nysa's name tattooed on his back too.
It is heard that, after having seen director Rohit Shetty and Sanjay Dutt's much talked about tattoos on location at Goa during the making of ALL THE BEST; Ajay has been very keen on sporting a tattoo. So this time, when acclaimed B-town hairstylist Aalim arrived in Goa, Ajay expressed his desire to get inked too. They have been in talks, ever since, about the size and style of tattoo he wants.
What better than to inscribe his adorable daughter Nysa's name, who is most precious to him. To be engraved in either English or 'Devanagari' with an Arabic touch, the design will apparently be simple yet with little touches that Devgan will approve of when Aalim flies down to meet Dutt and Devgan next month in Goa. Indeed, it's all about loving your family!
“Rohit is extremely considerate” - Mugdha talks about her ‘All The Best’ director May 28th, 2009 - 9:59 am ICT by sampurn By Joginder Tuteja
Mugdha Godse is smiling away day in and night out in spite of her injury. Reason? Due to her physical condition which requires her to take ample care of her neck on a 24X7 basis, she is being pampered silly on the sets of ‘All The Best’. So whether it is director Rohit Shetty or her co-star Ajay Devgan or the other members from cast or crew, Mugdha is being treated with utmost care on the sets of the film for which shooting is currently in progress at Goa.
“Rohit is extremely considerate about my physical state and is making sure that I don’t have any issues during shooting for ‘All The Best’. Not that I have any reason to complain in any case but still Rohit keeps asking me if I am comfortable shooting for the film”, remembers Mugdha who is now back in Mumbai to shoot for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Jail’ which is currently nearing completion.
She can’t get the glee off her face as she recollects the royal treatment that is being meted upon her.
“I guess the injury is a blessing in disguise”, winks Mugdha, “Everyone is being so sweet and nice to me. Ajay (Devgan) especially arranged for a doctor for me while the choreographer too asks me twice if I would be comfortable doing a particular step. I am enjoying all the attention though on a serious note, I sometimes feel bad that because of me, everyone is so worried. I would just want things to be normal.”
Tell her that on the sets of ‘Jail’ she is more of ‘ghar hi heroine’ (as she has worked with her mentor Madhur Bhandarkar before in ‘Fashion’) while for Rohit Shetty’s ‘All The Best’ she is a ‘mehmaan’ due to which is getting that special attention and she chooses to merely smile away without making a comment.
While she is still recovering from the injury that she got due to a road accident that she met with a few weeks back, Mugdha has been advised to wear some precious stones around her arm. Apparently, these stones are medically proven to aid in faster healing process and in general are good for one’s physical being.
“Even Ajay and Kajol wear these stones”, tells Mugdha, “I took their advise and started wearing them myself. My other medication is in progress in any case and I should be able to get 100% well soon.”
Incidentally, Mugdha is already staring at a double whammy ahead since both ‘Jail’ as well as ‘All The Best’ are slated to arrive during the same time period. While ‘All The Best’ has already pencilled in 16th October as it’s release date, Madhur Bhandarkar too has gone on record to state that ‘Jail’ would most likely arrive in either September or October.
Now it has to be seen if Mugdha would enjoy similar pampering at the box office in case ‘Jail’ ends up clashing with ‘All The Best’.
The 9/11 attack ensured that Britain imposed some very strict rules - one among them being the Central London declared as the No-Fly zone. However, Bollywood director Vipul Shah has obtained permission to fly over the Central London after undergoing a lot of trouble. Apparently, Vipul wanted to shoot a sequence which required Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan to fly over the Central London for London Dreams. Though this shot is likely to appear just 20 seconds in the film London Dreams, it was considered as an important one.
Vipul finally managed to get the permission after requesting the Film Council, the Mayor of London and the Home Ministry to allow them to shoot.
None less than that reigning sexbomb of Bollywood, Mallika Sherawat , has been roped in to romance Sanjay Dutt in the comedy film All The Best .
Ajay Devgan ’s home production ‘All The Best’ will have Sanjay Dutt showing, once again, his comic side along with the sexy and saucy Mallika, who will play his love interest. Mallika shared an amazing on-screen chemistry with Anil and Nana in the movie Welcome , and showed her comic streak in her last two releases Ugly Aur Pagli and Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam .
Now, the actress has reportedly said yes to ‘All The Best’, but is learnt to be charging a bomb. But that’s expected.
Sanjay, who was a bit tied up with political campaigning recently, is now back to his original love and profession. The actor has two other movies lined up, one is Soham Shah’s Luck and another is Anthony D’Souza’s Blue . Surprisingly in both the movies, which are action thrillers, Sanjay isn’t paired with any female actress.
‘All The Best’, directed by Rohit Shetty of Golmaal Returns , also stars Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan , Bipasha Basu and Mugdha Godse . Rohit has handled multi-starrer films successfully in the past and is doing it again with utter ease. The shooting of the movie has been going on in Goa.
With this film, Bipasha is happy to do a comedy as it is a refreshing change for her; Mugdha, too, is excited about her first comedy film. And lest Mallika’s fans be disappointed, the lady will shoot two sizzling numbers with Sanjay in June in South Africa.

Here’s a classic case of Nysa bringing up her daddy instead of the other way round.
Ajay Devgan known for his nocturnal adventures till a few years ago, now actually hits the bed by 10pm every night. Even when he is shooting outdoors, like he is currently for his home production All The Best - Fun Unlimited in Goa, unit hands staying in the same hotel as him insist that the actor-producer has dinner by 9pm and heads for his bed exactly an hour later.
Of course, this whole story sounded completely unbelievable because Ajay is in Goa alone while his wife Kajol and six-year-old daughter Nysa have flown to Germany for one of Kajol’s close friend’s marriage. To know that despite being a bachelor for the time being Ajay stuck to a 10pm bed routine came as a bit of a shock.
When Mumbai Mirror asked Ajay whether it was true that he hit the sack as early as 10pm when his contemporaries in Mumbai step out for a party, the actor said, “Yeah, I’m in bed at 10pm sharp every single night irrespective of whether I’m in Mumbai or even on an outdoor shoot.”
Ajay explained that at home he is the one who puts his daughter Nysa to bed every night.
“I have two drinks and then I spend some time playing with Nysa and see her off to bed. Once Nysa is asleep, I have my third drink, eat dinner, watch some television and then go to bed,” said Ajay.
However, off late his sixyear-old angel has been insisting that he should have dinner with her and sleep immediately. “Many times I just skip the third drink,” added Ajay. “In recent months I have started eating my dinner at 9pm after which I read for an hour to Nysa. She just loves reading and recently she called me from overseas to say she has bought a whole load of new books that she wants me to read to her as soon as she returns to India.”
“After reading to Nysa for an hour, I automatically fall asleep with her. Even when she is not around, I start yawning at 9pm and I just tell whoever I am with to please excuse me because I can’t stay up post-10pm,” said Ajay.
The adoring father says he is currently only a weekend dad because Nysa has school in Mumbai and can visit him in Goa only during weekends.
Does history repeat itself? Even centuries later, do people carry within them the DNA of age-old fratricidal wars, like some devilishly complex proteins? As Kurukshetra, Haryana was where thousands of years ago the bloody Mahabharat wars were fought over land and till today, they say, that if you dig hard and long, your chances are that you will find the red soil which was synonymous to the worlds bloodiest battle ever fought on land. It seems to be once again becoming the source of many abominable tales of corruption, of violent revenge killings, murky land deals and dirty politics. So, the conclusion is that the present begins from the past and present depicts the future. So it is essential for everyone to know the history of our past because every present emerges from the past and despite modifications, the base of all the things remains same. Come to think of it, Mahabharata is a glorious welter of incident and digression, evoking not just a central story of ruinous war but an array of myths and human archetypes and an animal world a quiver with magic drawn to its transcending themes: man's joyous awakening to nature and love and duty, the menacing lures of vanity and ambition and war with political degradation. At least hindsight is a must for those who have no foresight. For the sightless, Dhritharashtra of the epic Mahabharata and the progenies in terms of vision less political parties of today, someone like Sanjaya has to interpret characters, situations and their meanings, for all times to come. In our grand finale of the first season of the 'Writers Notepad', Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent and UK's Harrow Observer columnist present to you a writer par excellence, Anjum Rajabali and his take on his most ambitious project this year - Prakash Jha's Rajneeti which is highly influenced from the epic Mahabharata. Come; join us in this final battle of the pen versus the sword.
