There is a strong buzz going around in the industry circles that Ajay Devgan, who wants to release All The Best, is planning to shell out Rs 50 lakhs if he wants his film to hit the theatres on October 16, the same day as Aladin, Blue and Main aur Mrs Khanna. Even a few tabloids have reported this today. However, this decision has not gone down well with Sanjay Dutt who stars along with Ajay in the comic caper All The Best directed by Rohit Shetty. Reveals our source, “Sanjay Dutt already has two major releases Blue and Aladin this year lined up on the same date, October 16th during Diwali. Now he is in no mood to have a third release on the same day too. He is very upset with Ajay Devgan and is discouraging him from releasing the movie on Diwali.” Anthony D’Souza’s Blue will see Sanjay Dutt in an action role where as in Aladin he will be seen as the bad guy called Ringmaster. Both the scheduled films are big budget starrers and Sanjay Dutt does not want to take any chances with them. He has been banking on these films for quite some time now, especially after a hit-less two years. -Sampurn Media
The race for Diwali week has begun. As things stand today, as many as four films are confirmed for 16th October: BLUE, ALADIN, ALL THE BEST and MAIN AUR MRS. KHANNA. However, there are whispers that at least two films will back out of this race, since four biggies in one week is unimaginable in today's times. ... Meanwhile, Kumar Mangat is in no mood to postpone his film ALL THE BEST either. "We're readying the promotion and also working round the clock to arrive on 16th October. As far as we are concerned, we're definitely arriving on that date," he states. Await the clash of the titans!
All The Best an Diwali bleibt.
Mumbai: Kajol is not behind in making money even if she is away from doing any movie.
As her fans wait for her new movie 'My Name Is Khan', meanwhile she has been roped in as a brand ambassador by a soup brand.
Knorr, Hindustan Unilever's largest soup brand in the country, is all set to launch a new and exciting ad campaign this season and have signed Kajol for the same, so here is money minting for Mrs Ajay Devgan.
Kajol would be seen playing a mommy in the ad campaign which is scheduled to go on air from the 10th of August.
The 2009 Knorr soup campaign redefines the 7pm snacking trend by offering Knorr soups as the perfect snack, represented through the campaign idea, "Tummy bhi khush, Mummy bhi khush"
"Knorr soup has long been a family favourite and it feels great to be associated with one of my favourite brands. As a working mom, often I've found myself struggling with snack ideas that are not only easy on time but tasty and nutritious as well...a solution I found in soup! I strongly believe that a family that eats together lives together; and with Knorr soup's assurance of real vegetables and complete absence of preservatives, I have one less thing to worry about.", she said.
MUMBAI: Film maker Priyadarshan is all set to start work on his next film.
As was reported first on Businessofcinema.com, the director will soon be headed for Karaikuddi, a small town on the Kerala-Karnataka border to shoot his political drama. Come 16 August, and the unit will start its first schedule. Penciled in for this shoot are some powerful performers.
Priyadarshan describes, "As this film requires enigmatic characters and personalities that command a huge screen presence, I have cast my actors according to the dictates of the script. Films like these are realistic and hard hitting so the characters too have to be very believable. Ajay Devgan and Akshaye Khanna are powerhouses of talent." Adding to the talent will be the sheer genius of Paresh Rawal. Rawal, who has often been given comic characters can take charge of a character, which has villainous traits. Priyadarshan adds, "After a long time Paresh will give the audiences a taste of what he can do on the big stage. He is good in comedy, but far superior when he does hard hitting films. He can give his talent a free reign." One assumes that with the casting of Bipasha Basu, there will be a hint of glamour.
However, this film will have little scope for the actress to apply the grease paint and make her look glamorous. Talking about his heroine, Priyadarshan explaines, "There is a certain vulnerability to Bipasha's face and at the same time a certain hardness tinged with determination. That is what is going to be explored in this film." Spread over two schedules, the film should be ready for a release early next year.
The director summed it up as, "I like to work on one film at a time. I can give it my undivided concentration and the film looks complete if it is finished in six months. Besides, that's the only way I work... finish my films as early as possible."
Filme schnell fertig stellen."

Ajay Devgan sure must be proud of his business sense. The actor-turned-producer who was asked to pay Rs 50 lakh to the United Producers and Distributors Forum (UPDF) to release his film All the Best on October 16 along with three other films, will now not have to pay the huge sum; he also managed to strike a lucrative deal. Ajay sold the overseas rights of All The Best to Eros International on the condition that they will not release their home production Aladin on the same day.
A source said, “Eros International are convinced that All The Best has good commercial prospects overseas. They immediately agreed to not release Aladin on October 16 as per the condition put forth by Ajay.”
Ajay is naturally happy and relieved. His official spokesperson said, “We cannot comment on this.” Eros International’s CEO Sunil Lulla too remained unavailable for comment.
Director of Aladin, Sujoy Ghosh confirmed that his film will not release on October 16. “I don’t know about other films but Aladin will release on October 23. It is a solo release and I’m very happy,” he said.
Oktober verschoben. Damit bliebe es beim 16. Oktober für All The Best.
New Delhi, Aug 12 (PTI) Popular VJ Rannvijay who is all set to make his debut in movies, is overwhelmed on being "pampered" by the bigwigs of Bollywood but the debutante is not ready to ditch his role as a TV presenter.
Rannvijay, who will be seen in Vipul Shah's 'London Dreams' starring Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and 'Ghajini' star Asin Thottumkal, said he had a gala time working with Salman and Ajay.
"They (Salman and Ajay) are such fantastic people. We all had so much fun while shooting that I can safely say that I was thoroughly pampered throughout. Never did I feel like a newcomer on the sets of the film," Rannvijay told PTI in a telephonic interview.
Kangna Ranaut’s living out of a suitcase these days! From Switzerland to South Africa to Bangkok, the actress had been globe-trotting non-stop since the past few months now. But now the star’s back in aamchi Mumbai shooting for Once Upon a Time in Mumbai with Ajay Devgan.
And though it won’t be long before she’s whisked away for yet another shooting schedule, while here, the actress is making the most of it by catching up on ghar ka khana. “I missed the food a lot,” says Kangna. But the actress who’s been shooting back-to-back for Anees Bazmee’s No Problem, apart from her film down South Ek Niranjan is in no mood of slowing down.
As soon as she wraps up these three films, Kangna will start shooting for her other two films in the pipeline — Actor with Amitabh Bachchan and Tannu Weds Mannu. Seems like the sassy actress will have to miss the ghar ka khana again. But then with such lavish roles on her filmi platter to make up for it, she’s certainly not complaining about it, right Kangna?
Ajay is determined to release All The Best on October 16 despite being aware that he will have to pay Rs 50 lakh for going against the United Producers and Distributors Forum's diktat
Two-and-a-half months after the historic judgment between producers and multiplexes the first cracks within have begun to appear. Ajay Devgan, who wants to release All The Best, may have to shell out Rs 50 lakh if he wants his film to hit the theatres on October 16, the same day as Aladin, Blue and Main aur Mrs Khanna.
According to our source, the United Producers and Distributors Forum (UPDF) had decided that they will fix the release dates of films till November this year and anybody who goes against their decision will be fined.
Commenting on why Ajay is keen on releasing All The Best on October 16, the source said, "Diwali is the best time to get the audience to the theatres."
Ajay's spokesperson said, "We cannot comment on this issue." However, an insider from Ajay's office said, "We are releasing All The Best on October 16. 50 lakh bharna pada, toh bhar denge. Yes, we are aware there is a clause, which states that if we go against the UPDF's decision we'll have to cough up Rs 50 lakh. But we hear that one of the three films may not release on that day, in which case we will be free to release our film."
Distributor Ramesh Sippy, who is part of UPDF, said, "After the producer-multiplex fight was resolved, it was agreed that the release dates will be decided by the principal body. There is a certain amount of fine that has to be paid to UPDF, but the amount has not been fixed. If Ajay releases All The Best, he will have to pay the UPDF. The makers have been told all this clearly but they believe that Main Aur Mrs Khanna will not release on October 16, and that is how they will be able to release their film on that date."
President of Association of Motion Picture & TV Programme Producers, Ratan Jain, who too is part of UPDF, said, "I don't think Ajay will release All The Best on October 16. He has given us in writing that he will go ahead only if one of the three releases scheduled for October 16 falls through. Even I am ready with my film, De Dana Dan and would like to release it on October 16. But we do need to understand that every big film needs a decent release in terms of screening."
Mukesh Bhatt, Chairman of UPDF, said, "Why should Ajay pay us? We are here to help people and not for extortion. Some of our people have advised Ajay not to release All The Best on October 16. Where will he release the film? On the roads? Moreover, how many films can a person see on a Friday or over the weekend? But if somebody has decided to commit suicide, you can't stop them, can you?"
übersetzt von Diwali: Das Release-Termin-Hin-und-Her um ATB geht weiter. Laut Mumbai Mirror will Ajay doch an dem 16.
Wo will er ihn zeigen? Auf der Straße? Und abgesehen davon, wie viele Filme kann ein Mensch an einem Freitag bzw. an einem Wochenende anschauen? Aber wenn jemand beschlossen hat, Selbstmord zu begehen, dann kann man ihn nicht aufhalten, oder?"
So its official now, the inordinate post-production delays have impacted the film’s schedule. We are clearly headed for a Dec. 09 release by most optimistic standards. Still dealing with the animation execution of the last couple of scenes at Pixion’s animation besides the Promo song, which is quite a complex live-animation combo job in terms of the scale. The Promo song animation & blocking is underway and hopefully all animation should be done by the month end before tackling the lighting, compositing and renders for the remaining scenes. I am quite happy with the way the climax sequences have shaped up at Pixion– its been a rather long and exhaustive journey to give feedback on the climax sequence with more than 800 shots. Let’s hope things progress on time from here on. Looking at commencing dubbing sometime next month hopefully. Cheers.
Not many are aware that Vidya Balan was the first choice for Ajay Devgan’s home production, All The Best. She was first approached by Ajay and Rohit Shetty, the director of All The Best, but eventually this very same role went to Bipasha Basu.
A source claims, “Ajay and Rohit wanted bulk dates from Vidya for their 45 days long shooting schedule in Goa which was to include the entire cast of the film. But since Vidya had already committed her dates to Balki’s Paa and few other important projects she expressed her inability to allocate so many days at a stretch that too for an outdoor shoot.”
Well then Vidya’s loss turned out to be Bipasha’s double gain as during the Goa shoot, Bips ended up getting friendly with Ajay Devgan. And now post, All The Best, she has now landed yet another film with Ajay. She has been signed up by Kumar Mangat and Ajay for their new film opposite Akshaye Khanna. It will be directed by Priyadarshan and is based on honour killings.
Sanjay Dutt is shooting in Cape Town, but his heart is here in Mumbai. Dutt has been in constant touch with good friend Ajay Devgan, and he has even been monitoring the progress of his forthcoming releases.
He actually got co-actor Suniel Shetty, who joined him for the schedule of No Problem, to fly down with the theatrical promos of his two Diwali releases — Blue and All the Best.
And after seeing the promos, he has been in continuous touch with Ajay discussing the merits of his films. Dutt, who has lost around 12 kilos in the last couple of months, is actually keen that he is now seen on screen in his new slimmer avatar. He wants the dashing Dutt title back.

Bipasha Basu who is a fitness freak in real life will now be seen essaying the role of a gym instructor in Rohit Shetty's comedy flick All The Best.
A source reveals, "Bipasha's performance is very natural in the movie since she is acting in a role of a gym instructor. Gymming and working out has always been a part of the actress's routine. When the role was initially narrated to her, she was quite excited with the fact that she will be working out in the movie and for the movie."
The source continues, "She also has donned a different look. The model-turned actress has grown her tresses and comparatively has a sporty look. She is paired opposite Ajay Devgan and plays the role of his wife in the movie. A major chunk of the movie was shot in Goa and the actress was often seen working out after their pack up. This made the other cast members such as Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Mugdha Godse and even the director Rohit Shetty work out and be a regular at the gym."
"Due to her regular work outs, the director use to pull her leg by saying that she should not take her role so seriously, for the fact that even after shooting and pack up she was seen pulling people to work out," adds the source.
The younger star has managed to get the desired dates for his film
Rumour has it that Ajay Devgan has managed to beat Amitabh Bachchan in the race at the box office.
A little birdie tells me that Ajay's All the Best was supposed to release on the same day (October 16) as Amitabh Bachchan's Aladin. Now both the films star Sanjay Dutt in prominent roles and there were some concerns about the clash of the dates.
Apparently Eros, the company that has co-produced and is distributing Aladin was very keen on buying the overseas rights to All the Best. So when the top bosses at Eros approached Ajay Devgan with the offer, the former action star simply asked them to postpone the release of Aladin in India.
So now, Aladin will release on October 23, a week after its schedules release while All the Best will compete against Blue and Main Aur Mrs Khanna.
The grapevine suggests that thanks to John Abraham’s animosity with Salman Khan, Bipasha Basu will not appear on Salman’s television show.
On August 21, Ajay Devgan and Fardeen Khan are likely to record for this show hosted by Salman; however Bipasha, the leading lady of the film will not be on the show.
A source says, “Bipasha has no problems whatsoever with Salman; however because of his issues with her boyfriend John, she has been avoiding any direct contact with the actor.” Those who know Bipasha well, say the Bengali bombshell is very professional. However, she is also one of those who will not wish to be in an awkward spot.
