The Naqaab is finally off and Urvashi Sharma is off to a bright beginning in her career.
Apart from Baabarr where she has a performance-based role, the actor is gung-ho about making the right connection with Priyadarshan. “I am in talks with Priyan Sir for a new venture where I get to play one of the leading roles opposite a hero of repute,” Urvashi chirps excitedly, adding, “In fact, after watching the promos of my latest big screen outing, the production house had got in touch with me.” After getting a call from the director himself, Urvashi went to meet him. It was then that Priyadarshan offered her a part in his next. “He told me,
‘This is just the beginning. Better things will follow’,” continues Urvashi. This meeting with the director, however, proved to be a double bonanza for the actor. During the course of the conversation, she was offered a cameo in his current untitled project which boasts of a star cast comprising Ajay Devgan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Paresh Rawal. The film deals with caste wars in Bihar. “It’s more like saying, the chocolate will come later, you must now be satisfied with a lollipop,” jokes the actor, adding, “I am part of an important song sequence, which, in turn, takes the story forward. A lot of things are happening in the course of the song.”
Incidentally, this will be Urvashi’s first cameo in a film. Ask her if it’s another item number and she gets on the defensive, “The song sequence, isn’t there to titillate. And even if you tag it as an item number, let me clarify that I will never say no to a Priyadarshan. Not only does he stand out for representing his cast well, but he is also one who keeps repeating his actors.”
Urvashi is supposed to start shooting for the song sequence soon while the other Priyan venture will take off in October. Glad that her career is finally getting off in the right direction, she says that whatever she is being offered today is because of her talent. “For me, the length does not matter as long as the characters are of substance. Even in Baabarr, I have only seven to eight scenes, but the audience will get to see various shades to that character. That’s what I treasure,” she signs off.
Mumbai: Well, the bombshell of Bollywood Bipasha Basu needs mosquito repellents badly these days! She is being bitten by the naughty mosquitoes while shooting with co-star "Ajay Devgan" at Karaikudi in Tamilnadu for their upcoming movie "All The Best".
As per the sources, Bips said that the conditions in which we are shooting are not at all suitable for me as there are big mosquitoes and other insects that keep buzzing around the crew.
It is the same movie in which these two earlier stated that one of the scenes was the toughest of their lives as of now.
Planting another feather in her cap, this sexy actress will be seen in a new feature, tuining along with her co-stars Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan and Mugdha Godse in a generous song.
Well after she ferruled to Beedi jalaile in "Omkara", Bips has turned out to be quite a sizzling actress.
Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt are keen to own the Ahmedabad IPL team
KUNAL M SHAH , MUMBAI MIRROR 3 September 2009, 08:33am IST
After reports that Salman Khan is keen to own an Indian Premier League (IPL) team, comes the news that close friends Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan too are in the process of buying a team.
According to a source, Sanjay and Ajay have become good friends after starring together in Ajay’s home production All The Best.
“They have decided to own a team together as they are ardent cricket fans. They are keen to own the Ahmedabad team. Since Ajay was busy travelling, he informed Sanjay about being unable to meet IPL Commissioner, Lalit Modi.
It was Sanjay who met Modi and expressed their interest to own a team. Modi and Sanjay met at a suburban five-star on Wednesday to understand the bidding process. Sanjay made it very clear that whenever the auction begins, they are ready to invest in the Ahmedabad team.”
Earlier, it was Salman who had met Modi and there were reports that he is interested in either owning the Nagpur or Kochi team.”
Ajay’s spokesperson said, “No comments.”
At present, Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty are associated with the high-profile Twenty20 cricket tournament.
Gehen wir also erstmal Chai kochen...
Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt wish to own an IPL team, according to recent reports. The duo who have become good friends after working together on All The Best have expressed their desire to buy the Ahmedabad IPL team to Lalit Modi, the IPL Commissioner. Apparently, Modi and Sanjay met at a five-star to discuss the bidding process. They have decided to buy a team as they are both cricket fanatics. This news has come after Salman Khan met Modi, wanted to buy the Nagpur or Kochi team. So far, Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta are the celebrities associated with the IPL.
Ajay Devgn and Konkana Sen Sharma come together for the first time in Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge. The film is a comedy to be directed by Ashwini Dheer. The film will be produced by Kumar Mangat.
According to a source, "Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge (Guest, when will you go?), as the title suggests is about a houseguest who parks himself and refuses to leave.
Who else...
It was a story that Ashwini had in mind for a long time and Tushar Hiranandani has now penned the screenplay. Ajay loved the script when he heard it as did Konkana. Besides Ajay and Konkana, Paresh Rawal is there in the film too. He plays an important character in the film."
Confirms Ashwini Dheer, "Yes, it is true that Ajay and Konkana have been paired in Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge. But I wouldn't like to reveal any details now."
In the past... Ajay and Konkana have worked together in Omkara, but were not paired opposite each other.
Eien weitere Hauptrolle soll Paresh Rawal spielen. Der Film soll "Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge (Guest, when will you go?) heissen.

Prachi Desai plays the role of a Muslim girl in Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, a forthcoming Hindi film with Ajay Devgan, Kangana Ranaut. Prachi plays her age in this movie.
Mature actor at young age, Prachi Desai is now keyed up to do a film based on underworld ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai’. Apart from Prachi Desai, the film also stars fashionable Kangana Ranaut, angry-young-man Ajay Devgan and serial kisser Imran Hashmi.
“Film is about Mumbai in its 70s. I am playing a young Muslim girl in the film,” she briefs. She is head on heels in love with her role in the film as for a change she is playing her age onscreen. “I am not apprehensive about playing mature characters, in fact I am fortunate to have the caliber to pull it off well, owing to which I am enjoying the popularity of this kind. It is so, on television you are known for your screen image but in films people connect more with your real image. That’s the reason now I wish to play lot of young roles, but this does not mean I am not open to serious roles,” said the discovery of Balaji.
With the recent news about Sanjay Dutt wanting to own an IPL team and Ajay Devgan sharing the same interest as well, soon the two action heroes will be seen jointly owning a team.
Apparently, Sanjay Dutt already met Indian Premier League’s commissioner Lalit Modi on September 2 in Mumbai at a five star hotel. Ajay Devgan was out of town and left the responsibility of the meeting on Sanju baba’
He wants to invest in Ahmedabad team with Ajay Devgan as the co-owner. What we know so far is that Sanju Baba has done all his homework about the pros and cons of investing in a cricket team and is positive about the same.
Both actors will also be seen together in the film All The Best. While talking to each other on the sets of the movie, the idea of owning an IPL team emerged and before we knew Sanju Baba was already on his way to meet Mr.Modi.
Since all the biggies of the B-town want to own an IPL tea, how can Salman Khan be left in the run race to own one. He is said to be interested in owning in Nagpur or Kochi team.
IPL definitely has magnetic powers to attract our bollywood stars. Hopefully we shall see more cricket and more stars as well. An double eye candy!!
Almost the whole of Bollywood has been spotted at various Ganesha pandals in Mumbai city.
They were there to seek darshan of Mumbai’s favourite God. But the cast and crew of Ajay Devgn Films’ upcoming film All The Best – Fun Begins, were at Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi for a different reason.
Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse along with director Rohit Shetty, music director Pritam and Krishan Kumar representing T-Series (as head honcho Bhushan Kumar was not in town) visited the temple to launch the music of their forthcoming film.
Pritam has created some rocking numbers for this comic caper; including five songs and two remixes. The promos of All The Best... are already high on the popularity charts with their fresh and colourful illustrations.
Sharin Wader Butani, TNN 5 September 2009, 02:12pm IST
What better place to have the music launch of a film then at the feet of Lord Ganesh and that too, during the auspicious Ganesh Chaturthi week.
Actor-producer Ajay Devgn along with the entire cast — Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Mugdha Godse — of his upcoming film All The Best – Fun Begins, did just that. Early on Friday morning, they drove down to Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi to seek Ganpati’s blessings and launch their film’s music even as the pujaris recited mantras and performed the aarti to appease Ganesha.
Since all the stars share an interesting camaraderie, it wasn’t much of a trouble for Ajay to get them to come into town. The actor picked up Fardeen from his Juhu residence and went straight to Sanjay’s place in Bandra where Bipasha and Mugdha were already waiting. They then drove to the temple. There have been instances of producers and actors making the rounds of temples to seek blessings during the release of their films, but a music launch is definitely a first. Pritam has created some rocking numbers for this comic caper including five songs and two remixes.
Produced by Ajay Devgn Films and directed by Rohit Shetty, All The Best – Fun Begins is a rib-tickling comedy resulting from mistaken identities and hilarious goof-ups. And for this film, Ajay’s leaving no stone unturned. It’s due to release on October 16 and thus this Diwali, the Gods will be smiling down on him.
Radio Mirchi, too, joined Ajay and Bipasha in celebrating the music launch of the film. The stars launched it first on Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM. Tune in today to catch the hottest tracks from the film.
Per chance, Ajay Devgan may not shoot out such a peckish question over Konkona as they share good rapport ever since they’ve worked together for ‘Omkara’ (didn’t pair up together). But, he’s sure to pop out this question in his next film with Konkona.
Titled as ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’ (Guest when will you go?), the film has Ajay Devgаn and Konkona Sen spotting themselves is a mirthful characterizations. As the title implies, the film is about a houseguest who gets himself in and refuses to leave the place.
Filmmaker Ashwini Dheer admits that the script was done long time back and Tushar has crafted an interesting screenplay. Ajay and Konkona have felt the script has enough ingredients to engross the audiences and signed the deal sans any second thought. Paresh Rawal performs a prominent role and rest of the star-casts is yet to be finalized.
The film is produced by Kumar Mangat and will start rolling after Konkona’s marriage by next month.

When Salman, Ajay, Asin kept all commitments on hold to shoot for Vipul By Subhash K. Jha, September 7, 2009 - 14:04 IST
Vipul Shah's decision to shoot the last song of London Dreams in Bhandup in a makeshift maidaan representing a rock stadium turned out to be quite traumatic.
To begin the woes in the middle, when Salman's dog passed away during the shooting of the song, the actor broke down and wept like a baby. But he didn't cancel the shooting.
Nonetheless this could qualify as the most difficult climactic song ever shot. Vipul Shah recently shot the final rock - concert number for London Dreams in Bhandup near Mumbai with 5,000 junior artistes cheering Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Asin, Ranvijay and Aditya Roy Kapoor who play members of a music band.
Says Vipul, "We were stuck for the last song because of the rains. And then because of swine flu we weren't allowed to shoot in crowds. But I had no choice. The song couldn't be delayed."
Remo choreographed the song and the track was sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shankar Mahadevan.
Says Vipul, "We couldn't get the stars' fans to fill up the open-air auditorium-set for the very simple reason that in the earlier concert songs for London Dreams, we had seen how unruly the fans get when they see their favourite stars dancing in front of them."
On top of all, the practical problems faced during the shooting of this massive song, the stars were all busy elsewhere. "Salman was shooting for 'Dus Ka Dum'. He requested them to postpone their shooting for two days. Ajay was supposed to start Priyadarshan's shooting on those days. He asked Priyan to push his dates forward. Asin was doing an endorsement down south. Ranvijay was shooting for another film in Delhi. He flew both days and flew back. And Aditya Roy Kapoor who was shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish also accommodated my song."
To compound Vipul's troubles Salman's dog died during the shooting. "I thought he would leave. But he continued shooting."
Though the experience of putting the climax song together turned out to be a nightmare, Vipul is undeterred. "I've relieved my non-core group of technicians for my film Action Replay from their duties for now. When we regroup and they're free to join us. Akshay and Aishwarya have promised the dates whenever we need them. If the actors are committed to a project, nothing can stop a film from reaching the winning post."
... Devgan Films recently picked up a carton of the hand-sanitisers from a shop at Irla. Ajay Devgan confirmed this. "I have requested my staff as well as visitors to use the sanitisers as soon as they enter the office,'' he said.
Even critics-who have watched back-to-back releases in the last two weeks-have also started using the sanitiser. ...
Bipasha Basu recently suffered a bad bout of food poisoning in Kadaikudi, while shooting for Priyadarshan.'s film with Ajay Devgan. She also got an allergy that made her eyes swell up and shut tight. Bipasha confirms, "I have a strong eye allergy (due to dust, flowers, make-up) for years; so before putting on any eye make-up I need to have medication for my eyes. Unfortunately, I had become so ill prior to that I forgot to take any eye medication. I already had a severe bout of food poisoning and was bedridden for a couple of days. I became so weak that they had to call a local doctor."
Buzz up! The eye allergy Bipasha says was the result of some flowers her yoga teacher got to cheer her up when she was recovering from the food poisoning, "I was so thrilled to recieve the bonquet that I held them close to my face to smell them and then wham! My eyes swelled up and shut tight the next day. Obviously, I couldn't shoot like that so they had to cancel my shoot for two days. I was on antibiotics for 5 days. I became a bit better before I returned to Mumbai for the release of the music of All The Best in Siddhivinayak."Bips jokes, "Earlier too my eye has had problems because of the allergy; this became the baap of all allergies."
